There is some acid in PF specifically which does extra damage to metal on page 264. Under the Armor of Ithan spell description on page 192 I do not see any mention of it being metal so would that mean it takes the reduced damage done to organic materials/leather/skin ? It doesn't seem organic either...

How is that any different from walking around with a bunch of MD weapons and equipment? PC's are already targets due to the value of all their gear. True, I don't know how long it takes to read those but I figure it would take as least as long as it would to cast it from scratch.

Downside there is if I was a Wizard and knew you had a trove of Cosmic Armor scrolls I would want to steal them so I might learn the spell for myself.

Cosmic Armor is in the phase world sourcebook that defines Space Magic (Fleets of the 3 Galaxies?). Page 120 of Dimension Book 13, yes. Having 10x the duration of Armor of Ithan for only 4.5x the PPE would make this an amazing deal even if it only had 5 MDC per level. Really for any kind of balance...

Oh okay I was hoping it was more something like the ability to utterly absorb small amounts of damage to deal with the "a gnome punches the robot inflicting 1 SDC each time for as many hundreds of times as it takes to be destroyed" problem which high natural AR doesn't totally avoid.

your bread and butter protection is still going to be Armor of Ithan since it's cheap, has a relatively long duration, and, most importantly, is invisible so you can have protection without drawing attention to yourself. I don't see why a roaming GB isn't realistic. Yes, carrying around expensive equipment by yourself that people will want to steal is a risk. Traditional ronin had to deal with that too didn't they? A conjuror can make MDC versions of classic armors, I think 1/2 as much MDC as they normally have SDC.

Also Kuznya stuff in Mystic Russia.

Punches doing as much as daggers is also hard to stomach. Only blood loss saves edged weapons.

What HTH? Assassin gets it at 12, martial arts and expert at 15.

Commando getting it 3 levels earlier and 1 die lower than Assassin does seem wrong though.

Basic/Expert's automatic knockout/crit from behind at 13 is still better than everything though since it doesn't gamble on natural die rolls.
