Parrying Energy Blasts is worse!
Conversion Book 1 Revised tells us that you must have an MDC object to parry with (incidentally establishing that psi-swords are MDC objects). AND that if you parry an energy blast that the object you parry with takes the damage. Thus if you parry that 20MD laser with your 15MDC sword...you just destroyed your sword in the process. Since this rule has never been rescinded it is still part of the game.
The rules are not a bludgeon with which to hammer a character into a game. They are a guide to how a group of friends can get together to weave a collective story that entertains everyone involved. We forget that at our peril.

Glistam wrote:So what I see is that you do lose automatic parry when you strike with both weapons at once, but you retain automatic dodge if you have it.

It does say does uses up an attack, whether that is a handicap on automatic dodge or a reminder of normal dodge functioning as normal is unclear.

In Robotech and Dead Reign I think they changed it so you need to use a dual parry with paired weapons to defend against a dual strike.

In Rifts on the other hand I think you could use a normal parry to block a dual strike.
