I'd agree that Prysus has it pretty much nailed down. If the intent was to kill the PC's, and the first element is the knockout gas, Sixth Sense would go off, as it's an imminent life threatening event that will be set in motion. For me, I think that I'd rule that the Temporal OCC's/RCC would be have this reduced casting benefit, and all other spellcasters have the standard 2 apm. But again, that's just me.

I recall that the classic Robotech RPG had some Destroid weapons systems use a variety of dice for weapon damage. The RDF Excaliber had it's Particle Beam Cannon arms do 5D10+20 (or so) MD, while one of the TZ gun cluster weapons used a D8 for it's MD rating.
