What's happening in Greece?

Or, if it's really complicated, which book mentions the area?

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned in depth anywhere but presumably there is Brodkil and/or Phoenix empires influence crushing human communities. Mythological creatures from Greek tradition are noted to exist in the region in Conversion Book 1.

The only thing I have seen that has information about that part of the world is in Rifter #1. It has a section talking about the fact that the area of Rome has been settled by Wolfen from Palladium and they have erected a new Roman Empire.

Yeah I've got that issue, the Wolfen came through during the time of Chaos Earth and aided the humans in surviving and the humans inturn shared their technology so there's a combined human/ Wolfen Empire in Italy.

No official mention, though there have been fan projects kicking around. We can probably figure that there's a resurgence in interest in the old pantheons, if not by the locals(the old-time pantheonists coming into conflict with the Greek Orthodox church), then by the Okympic pantheon itself, seeking to (re_establish a foothold on Rifts Earth.

There's a brief mention in Triax 1 that much of Mediterranean civilization was obliterated, and has only recently begun to flourish again, with various human and non-human groups vying for territory (in other words, the same story as everywhere else on Rifts Earth). The maps at the back of the book also seem to indicate that all of the Aegaean islands and a big chunk of Crete are submerged. Also, according to Underseas, most of the Mediterranean is within a Magic Triangle.

CB2 states that the Olympian pantheon has no established presence on Rifts Earth, but could in the future. If this should happen, I imagine Rifts Greece would quickly come to resemble Megalopolis (Phase World, p. 16).

Greece itself, I don't recall, but the surrounding regions do have something mentioned:
-North (Slavic states) are covered to some extent in RMB/RUE, possibly even WB5 and other WB/SB for the area
-East (Italy), CB1r mentions that there is a Wolfen nation in Italy (Rome) that gets fleshed out a bit in an early Rifter
-West (Turkey), CB1r mentions a growing nation of Giants in Turkey
-South, across the Sea is the Pheonix Empire.
-The Med. Sea itself is also in a Triangle (WB7), though the map suggest Greece is on the edge of it (Italy is right in it)

So Greece might be seen as extensions of the Slavic region and/or Turkey in writeups. That or the bulk of the land mass submerged with the rising sea level.

That helps too. Though i didn't know there was a Giant nation in Turkey. That's pretty cool.

With how unstable Rifts Earth is, I imagine they might just settle for making a military outpost on the top of Mount Olympus and using it as an evacuation zone for those willing to follow Zeus.

Your welcome. The Giants nation is mentioned in the text concerning one of the Palladium Fantasy Giants in Rifts Earth.

I'm good with that...A few Olympic priests on a fact-finding mission to Rifts Earth. Might make for a good adventure using the Priest OCC and a gathered attendant party of specialists(scouts, bodyguards, pilots/seamen, etc.); journey to Rifts Earth, check on the old places of power, gauge whether there are still any Old Believers(or the potential for some revival), and possibly locate any sacred artifacts/objects of power.

If these priests should discover the Mechanoid threat, it will be enough to catch Artemis' and Poseidon's attention, at least.

So long as Mechaniods can't attack his home dimension, if we assume the CB2 gods to have the deific powers the D+G ones do, he could just aid indirectly through the eyes of his worshippers without ever putting himself at risk.

The main threat would be if they gained a means to enter Olympus, like if Hel of the Norse gods teamed up with them and lent help with her magic.

I wouldn't say 'they', it's all Hera, someone Zeus/Hades (pretty much the big 2 I would say) has already jailed for conspiring to overthrow the authority.

It's not as if Odin is backing Hel or anything either.

Perhaps, but if he was informed about what she did, he'd probably attack her himself, maybe even turn her over and approve of punishments.

The reason he intercedes on other gods behalf (especially those he doesn't like) is just selfish ego 'it's my pantheon, I choose what happens' type stuff.

The main problem is that the Norse would have to be polite about it to get his co-operation and I could see Odin and Freyr jumping the gun and DEMANDING punishment, in which case Zeus' ego would probably incline him to say no, even though I think he would co-operate with a request.
