Interesting party compositions

Unread post by VooDu »

What is the most eclectic group of characters any one has played or like to see? I have some parties I may make for and wanting to see others. This is one I am working on (Higher powered):

Mega Hero Rouge Scholar (my fave)
Necrophim
Cyclone Rider from Robotech or Phaeton Juicer w/ a Cyclone
Psi-Nullifier
Mutant Capybara or Achilles Neo-Human
Something from Phase World besides a Cosmo Knight.
Mystic Knight
Zakris

Our current group is fairly eclectic ...

Psi-Ghost
Elemental Fusionist
True Atlantean Undead Slayer
Wild Dog Boy Gunslinger
HU Superhero (Invulnerability/Supersonic Speed)
Mystic Knight

One thing I love about Rifts is that you don't have to follow that D&D philosophy of Fighter, Cleric, Wizard, Rogue party mix...

from an old rifts game, went something like this:

Sea Titan, turned mega hero
Atlantean undead slayer
Full conversion borg on roids
a Juicer turned minion of Aeruhman(sp?)
A Cyber Knight possessed by an Spirit of Light(fire)
an Apok
And ABC Robot from Judge Dredd
A Judge from Judge Dredd
Ley Line Walker with Rune Sword and bad assed with it.
A Rahu-man mystic

That was one screwed up game, though very fun

Don't have a current group :(

But back when the RIFTS game was brand new, we just "rifted" everyone over.

1) Palladium Fantasy RPG Paladin
2) Robotech Destroid Pilot
3) Transdimensional TMNT Mutant Hominid with Time-Travelling Motorcycle
4) Heroes Unlimited Psionic
5) Beyond the Supernatural Parapsychologist

Y'see, each one of those was the favorite PC of 5 different Palladium campaigns. :D

a game I want to run will include

the last son of a doomed planet and Rifts earth greatest protector

the heir of a multi-billion dollar pre-rift company that dons a shadowy alter-ego to fight the monsters of the world, playing on their greatest fears.

and a Grackle Tooth Justice Ranger that has just been chosen to weild the most powerful weapon in the universe.

Yes, they are the JLR

yeah I'm a goober, so what?

This is a very oddball if narrow group. I had a bunch of old friends in town a Christmas or two ago and we decided to play a Rifts game where Thoth gathered champions from the Megaverse to go on a quest.

Ronin True Samuri

PF Wolfen Palladin

True Atlantean Cyber Knight

Mystic Knight

Oni Cyberni

Elven Psi Warrior

N&SS Sword Based Worldly Martial Artist(I can't remember the style)

They were all sword wielding knights of one form or another, but had alot of variety.

To fill in this one missing blank, that player's character is a human Ley Line Walker from the Shadow Plane (spells focus on Shadow Magic) turned Gunfighter.

A Mind Melter Zembahk, A Fire Warlock Titan, a Scarecrow (I forget the class, I think Earth/Water Warlock tbh), an Atlantean Stone Mage, and a Human Crazy.

There weren't a lot of books back in those days. ;)

Wow that sounds nuts and really cool.

It was fun.

We progressed from there to...

A Temporal Raider named Pez
a Pogtal Temporal Wizard named Marrowdrinker (me, natch)
An Undead Slayer
A Taunton
and....A Phoenixi.

It was a fun group of mischief and madness.

my first game was a mercs game, it was... interesting

human super spy (psionic)

human cyber knight (his long lost brother)

human hyperion juicer (their long lost sister)

humanish safe cracker (specilised in flying power armor)

Human CS power armor pilot (left the cs because he wanted to kill more indiscriminatly)

Half kittani half alteran warrior woman psi-opperator (believed himself to be
human later found out that he was the prdduct of bio-wizardry)

Humanlike andriod (wife to the human super spy, believed herself to be human, the superspy went along with the delusion out of love even to the point of cutting a deal with a alien intelegence so that she could have his children.)

Bio-machine person mechanic, wife to the opperater (was the result of an attemt by the machine people to make a partialy biological machine person so that people would not dismiss them as robots.)

Android (daughter to the machine person and the opperator who was delighted to be an andriod...)

21st century human vagabond with no usefull skills or powers

Wolf Dog boy with greatly reduced psionics.

Lord magus on sojurn

and finnally a former pecos raider who inexplicably had extesensive training in NBC wafare.

Our Rifts group back in the day was a mercenary company that went by the acronym TORJ (Temporary Organization for the Restoration of Justice). That may or may not be cheesy today, but it was a great group back in the day. Some of the founding members included a Battle Magus, a Juicer Assassin, an Operator, a Special Forces Robot Pilot, an Atlantean Undead Slayer, and a Hunter Cat. We also had a rotating cast of extras that at one time or another included a Gunslinger, an Anti-Monster, an Amaki Duelist, and a Full Conversion Cyborg. We stuck mostly to the Midwest, though we did range down towards the Pecos Empire and Lone Star.

Gaius
Strange, we ran down desparate streets and carved our names in the flesh of the city. The sun has stagnated somewhere beyond the rim of the horizon and the darkness is a mystery of curves and lines. Still, we lay under the emptiness and drifted slowly outward, and somewhere in the wilderness we found salvation scratched into the earth like a message.
