Amulets and Dog Boy & Psi-Stalker Sense Magic Energy

If the player characters are wearing magic amulets, specifically "See the Invisible," would a CS Dog Boy sense the Amulet and thus the characters?

There are two answers....Yes and No.
If the TW magic item is charged with magic...Yes.
If the TW item is not charged then No.

If you are talking about a magic items made by the spell 'Create Amulet'...No. Because there is no option to make a 'see the invisible' amulet.
But then again, if the char was wearing an amulet made by that spell, then most likely yes.

Charms (as pr NB TtGD), now that might be a gray area, but more Yes than No.

If you mean a magic item that that lets the wearer "see the invisible" three times per day...Yes. Even more so when active.
But these are generally only made by Alchemists. So is also No due to lack of avalibility.

If it's a continually active "see the invisible' magic item....Yes. It is continually active.

Specifically, I was looking at the book Rifts Ultimate Edition.

The 12th level spell "Amulet" on page 223

Level Twelve (Invocations)
Amulet
Range: Holder/wearer of the amulet.
Duration: Exists as long as the medallion is not destroyed.
Saving Throw: None.

See the Invisible: Enables only the wearer of the medallion to see
the invisible. P.P.E. Cost: 500.

I don't understand what you wrote when you wrote:

Is that in the 1st edition Rifts Book?

Palladium Fantasy book?

Maybe we are writing about two differenty things.

It is a magic item, or at least an active spell, so they would have the chance to find it as such.

Sometimes, gaming we forget, get tunnel vision, after the episode we debate how and why so and so didn't sense or know something.

In truth we forgot.

Other times the GM excused it or hand wavium it will be so because . . .

Now, from a stand point of the CS Dog Boy in the man hunt for the players, they can be found because one or more of the players has a magic amulet on them to see the invisible.

Or the necromancer with his bone of invisibility and flaming skull

Or the mind melter with their TW item

Or the wilderness scout with their TW endless water bottle

They can all be sensed by them with the only way to disappear being to drop the items and leave them behind risking their permanent loss and/or destruction.

its a 500PPE magic items.
That sounds like it is far more than the 50PPE threshold to smell so...
yes, they can make the rolls to try and sense it/locate it/etc

The Amulet Spell has limited options about what it can make. None of those options is "see the invisible".
The only things the spell can do are those listed in the spell. Go to the spell listing to see what amulet types that spell can make.

If you are talking about a GM made item, then use the base spell to figure out the range at which a continually active spell will be detected . This is unless the GM originally said it is undetectable by any 'sense magic' powers or spells.

The way I'd rule it as GM is that the amulet as you've identified is an object instilled with PPE to effect an enchantment that grants a magic power to the wearer. The DogBoy would sense that enchantment/magic power. Treat as magic in use.

Take the amulet off and the amulet is still a magical object and can still be sensed. Treat as magic not in use, so range reduced.
