It might help to know what the faction is... beyond just being a "Motorcycle Gang" or "Psychic".

Are they going to be somewhat helpful... or are they mostly going to oppose players. What exactly are their goals.

When I design a minor faction for my games, I think of the niche they are going to fill and how they go about filling it. Once that is done... at least in broad strokes, then I find a name that is appropriate. That said, a name can influence how the Faction develops. Just look at the Seekers and the Nocturne... both have very similar motifs... namely the acquisition of mystic knowledge, but go about it very differently. The Seekers seek such knowledge mostly for the sake of recording and cataloging it, while the Nocturne actually seek to use that knowledge in their struggles against darker forces. Seekers have a reputation as bookworms and Gandolf-like sorcerers who horde their knowledge away from those who could make use of it (sometimes with good reason, but that is rarely acknowledged). Nocturne have a reputation of being a little more of a "hard edge" and "bad boy" status. Each will appeal to a different sort of character, even though both have very similar interests.

Creating a faction is more than just picking a name that sounds cool... one also needs to think of the goals of the group and how they intend to accomplish those goals.

Then again, I am sure you've already thought of all these things.
