Default ranges for Talents

Between the Shadows introduced a default duration of 1 minute/level unless a talent indicated otherwise. Would anyone know if there is a default range? Should we assume it is Touch unless otherwise indicated?
I ask because some powers like Darkbonds don't make that clear, so I'm not sure if it is necessary to roll to strike a guy's hands with a called shot in HtH range to put irons on them, or whether it can be done at a distance.
