Will it be a large pig with a grenade launcher inside ?

On topic: I hope that they eventually do another official open house, so far I've never been able to attend and I'd like to make it to at least one.

2015 is the Official one set to happen at the end of April/beginning of May.

I think the capacity of the warehouse is between 300 and 400. I believe those were the numbers I was quoted back in the day when I worked there but I could be wrong.

I've never really seen it full. I don't think there were 300 people there at one time at any point on the weekend the 2 times I went.

Cool, didn't know that it was official, thought this was just another "fingers crossed" kind of thread :ok:

While I mainly go to the Open House to game, it is the only chance I get to play really, and I do plan to run several games I hope there will be a few more panel and discussion groups in 2015 than in 2012.

Does this appeal to anyone else or is it just me? If so, what topics would you like to see?

I think what I want most is some sort of GMs panel lead by really good GM's for MA's and anyone who GM's at the open house. I think it really helps when GM's get together and talk.

I would like to know how do they mix the panels and the games, to allow the people to attend both? Do they have a schedule? How anyone knows how long does it take to play a "game", to avoid loosing the panels (I assume it is very rude to quit in the middle of a game to go to a panel)? Thanks.

They go on at the same time so in order to catch a panel you will have to give up gaming time.

 -- I wish. My parents took away my pig-grenade launcher when I was 10 because they read in some book that it was "bad for my self-esteem" or something. -grumble-

It would be very cool to meet you and see you there. I think the 2015 open house will have a record turn-out.

BTW, glad you're back. :)

It would be cool to meet you there as well, and there are a lot of others I would like to meet face to face with as well.

I'm glad I'm back too. I was on holidays from work for 2 weeks (24th - 6th) and in that time period I didn't turn my computer on once. I spend enough time in front of one at work so I avoided it like the plague on holidays, I didn't even use it for gaming (but I still played PS3 since I don't have one of those at work  )

It would be nice if they scheduled the panels in a way as to have a minimum effect on game time

Say a 4 hour block of 9am to 1pm and another block 1pm to 5 pm.

During the 9 to 1, no panels just games, but during the 1 to 5 lots of panels and a few games going at the same time.

Scheduling would be a bear but you could set it up so that people can get some game time and panels in.

I guarantee that there will be an MA panel- we want all that go to the OH to be MA's!!

I missed the last one due to some goings on in Afghanistan. If there's one in 2015, I plan on being there, and supporting my local MA.

Should give me time to buy/mod a school bus for the trip (from Florida)... Excellent!

There's a 98% chance of me attending this event. It will be the first one I have attended.

I think the last one we got right about there, Jorel, if not a little above. Saturday was nuts.

Oh, and I'll be there.

I am curious to know the numbers in attendance. I wonder if anyone will dredge up that bit of info as I'm pretty sure they gave a tally after the last one.

Well, at one point there were at least 12 games going with 6 to 8 people each. So rough estimate, 70 people at least. I think I'm underestimating though. For a large warehouse, it felt like it was fairly packed.

sounds about right, though that may be a low estimate as not everyone was gaming

I bet there was over 200 on any one day for sure (especially Saturday). There was over 40 at that "dinner" at Brannigans on the Sunday. Remeber all the staff, writers/artitists too. Those who came and went outside at one point or another, the chatters, pick up games, watchers, etc. Did feel packed too.

Man I hope I can go in 2015.

Myself as well.

I really hope I am able to attend this year. Not only would this be my first time attending but with that post of Kevin's about possibly not having one 2015 (luckily he changed his mind this time) this may be my last chance at attending one as well.

Well, I already said I was coming, but my best friend and, by that time, his wife, will be there. Also another friend said he will be coming, and I might get his brother to come also. So if all goes well, there will be 5 in my group that will becoming.

Hang on... who's this Matt Balent anyway? A single post starting this thread and no other posts since? Strange.

Could it be the Matt Balent, the man behind Palladium's Compendium of Weapons, Armour & Castles (etc.)?

I have been fortunate to attend every year (and two years when it wasn't going on). I have no intention of ever missing one. I've changed primary jobs 3 times since the first and each time when I get hired I explain "If my publisher has an Open House, I will be needing time off in the Spring" when I get hired.

Od comes from Odguard to comfort Worander in his final hours but does not lead him to the halls of Valhollow to spend eternity with is fallen legions. Instead he heals the "Arm of Od" and tasks him with more duties to see his race triumph in the upcoming wars. From this day forth he shall forever be known as a living saint and hold rank higher than an "Arch Bhisop"...

- Thats one way the story could go.....
