Rifts Diva Battle Royal

Unread post by Hystrix »

I did a poll a while ago about a Shemerrian Berserker vs. an Altara Warrior Women.

So, in the spirit of this, Rifts combat, and the WWE, I give you the Rifts Diva Battle Royal. Note: For the purposes of this contest all combatants are female.

This is a melee and hand to hand weapons combat only (spells, and psionics ARE allowed) who would win?

 nice.

I'll admit, I don't even know who to pick. I think the Shemerrian Berserker is the odds-on favorite, but I'm a sucker for underdogs. I like the Altara, and the CS Juicer, but I think any one of em could come out on top.

It really depends on what weapons, powers and skills each character is given.
If we are going to generalize, I think the victor would be the Ley Line Walker who could simply remain invisible until there was only one other combatant remaining and then Magic Net it and beat it to death.
Of course I accidentally clicked Mind Melter instead of Ley Line Walker so my vote will have to be in words only.

Depends on the powers. A Mind Melter with the right powers could stand against at Shemarrian... but the with the wrong powers, would just die.

Since I am now thinking about female Juciers, imagine the knockers a female Titan Juicer would have?

Assuming all are of equal level, The Ley Line Walker is already at a disadvantage, offensive spells leave her vulnerable to just about all of the other classes, and even with armor spells, juicers being MUCH stronger would cause a lot of interruptions to those spells. All of the other classes are pretty generic man-at-arms melee fighters with nothing other than raw skill/class bonuses.

My best bet would be on the Mind Melter, having the most options, as well as versatility, Psi Sword/Shield. Psychic Body Field, not to mention TK Forcefield and Pyrokinesis, trap someone in a TK Forcefield, and drop a Create Flame on them... taking a lot of MD damage for a lot of melee rounds with nowhere to go, so shes got a lot of crowd control as well.

Yeah, I just threw the Ley Line Walker in there to have a magic class. If you think there is one better suited, add them. I guess I should have thrown in a female tattoed warrior...

The thing is they wouldn't because all fat turns to muscle and I think they would end up looking like oversized women body builders. In fact I would reduce a female's PB by 1D6 if they became a juicer of any type, maybe with the exception of a dragon juicer.

I voted Mind Melter. Psi-invis, Psi-body field, Super TK, Super TK FF, Bio-manip, Psi-Sword, Hyp Sugg (go attack someone else with big breasts. You were always jealous of her anyway), Empathic Transmission (JEALOUSY), I mean...should I go on? Would the Mind Melter NOT be the last woMAN standing? I think the odds (read: die) are in her favor.

Technically speaking the shemarian shouldn't be in the fight because it's not female.

Mind Melter.

Use Psionic Invisibility, then simply stand back and wait to finish off the survivor.

That power shouldn't work against robots. It specificly mentions that she would be caught by cameras and sensors.

Going with Stapha....they're big, they're mean, they're lean, and they'd have access to Splugorth magic and technologgy.

A fair point (and one the MM may or may not know about). But the Shemarrian would have to ignore all the other combatants to get to the Mind Melter.

The psychic classes would easily make their save vs Psionics and be able to see the Mind Melter too. Psionics are just too easily saved against which is why I chose the LLW for invisibility.

How about we assume that each combatant doesnt know who they are facing and build the generic version of each listed. So the Mind Melter and others takes "generic" skillset of powers rather than focusing on a specific power(s) to kill a specific foe.

Well Invisibility isn't really specific. Any Mind Melter, or Ley Line Walker can have that particular psychic power/ spell.

I would consider that generic then to those O.C.C.s, I am not saying gimp yourself, as Invisibility is useful in all situations, but I mean dont "tech" yourself to beat one specific foe. For example the Mind Melter could go all "mental control" but that would help him little against the Shemarrian or other such character without a "mind" or defense against mind powers. Just an example though.

I thought about that. I love Zentreadi, but any character that can win by simply STEPPING on another character was out.

But hey, I did have the "other" selection, so you could write that one in.
