I second the motion for INSIDIOUS. That is a fantastic movie with BTS in mind.
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND "Kolchak The Nightstalker" TV series (1970s version). It exudes all things BTS and was the inspiration for "The X-Files." With that in mind, the current TV series "Fringe" is also recommended.

All of the above are excellent choices, and are amongst my all time favorite TV shows (X-files being #1).

I would recommend checking out the Dresden Files on Hulu. They don't really follow the books that well, but their okay. Also Poltergeist: The Legacy, Eerie, Indiana, and other really superb shows that are great for a mystery.
