The party had just recently participated in a large rescue mission, recruited some NPCs, and were working on organizing and building up their base/forces. They live in a large walled-in warehouse.

Main Party
-Survivalist: Best friend of the Greasemonkey. Does not get along well with Wacko.
-Wacko: Has a well known hatred of handguns, and works on ruining the Survivalist's life.
-Insane Demo Man: Multiple Personalities including Nam Vet, Bandito, and Cheerleader.
-Greasemonkey: Defacto leader.
-Sawbones: PC turned NPC
Other PCs
-Flyboy: Japanese engineer trapped in the US. Flies a Huey.
-Exterminator: Flyboy's door gunner.

The Wacko went scrounging around and found some dice and books. At the big dinner with all the PCs and NPCs, she brought out the books and dice, and the Survivalist offered to trade for them. He pulls out a pistol, removes the magazine and puts both of them down on the table right in front of him. The Wacko picks up both, loads the magazine in, and unloads the pistol into the Survivalist. The Sawbones drags the Survivalist out of the way, and tries to save him. The Greasemonkey and Demo Man pull out their guns, only to suffer jams or miss. Demo-man thinking this was an act of God, freaks out and reverts to his Nam Vet persona. The NPCs all run away.

The Wacko tosses the pistol away and sits down to eat, the Greasemonkey pulls out another gun, and the Demo Man ran away to get his explosives. Greasemonkey guns down the Wacko, and tries to re-establish order. The NPCs begin to return when the Demo Man lobs a bunch of explosives down at the dinner table below.....along with MUSTARD gas. The Greasemonkey is right by the stairs and manages to make it up the stairs before the explosives hit the ground. An NPC is obliterated in the blast, while the rest run away. The Survivalist and Sawbones are shielded from the blast, but get caught by the mustard gas. The Greasemonkey managed to avoid the mustard gas by jumping out the window on the second floor.

Meanwhile the Flyboy decides to drop by in his Huey and sees everyone running out the front of the warehouse, so he lands to pick them up. The Greasemonkey runs around the building to go open up the front door. The Demo Man walks out the front door, sees the Huey, and hears the heavily accented asian accent, so he assumes that the Viet Cong have stolen a chopper, and tries to lob grenades at it. The Flyboy takes off, and levels his .50cal on the Demo Man, dissecting him AND setting off the rest of his explosives which almost blow up the nearby Grease Monkey. The Flyboy lands, and the NPCs drag him on board and they fly to the nearby airfield run by Freedom Fighters.

Most of the recruited NPCs decide to abandon the party after this, but the Greasemonkey has ended up fairly rich from the loot belonging to the rest of the party.

Why the hell did the survivalist want to trade books and dice for a working pistol with ammo?

I have no clue. None of the books were that useful. and everyone in the party knew about the Wacko's pistol hatred.

This is good enough to be the plot of a Knights of the Dinner Table comic.
