I want to start a online game thinking of using hangouts or whattapp or the d20 game site tell me what you guys want

Have you ever thought of doing it as a Play-by-Post game? I am a member of another forum that only does PbP gaming and one of the members there is setting up to do a Recon PbP. It caused me to seek out this forum and see if it's been done before. PbP is quite a different creature than face-to-face or video/text (like discord or Roll20) gaming. Though each have their different but fun aspects. The pace of PbP detracts, as well as attracts players, depending on what you are looking for.

Interesting that when I check the Megaverse forums this is one of the first threads I see.

I run NSS PbP games on Discord. I ran a CIA Para Military campaign and a Recon style game set in 1969 MACVSOG.

Aren’t Discord games more like chat games than PbP? Or is it more of a mix of the two?

Id guess its a hybrid. I dont do any live action stuff. If you are interested DM me and Ill get you in the server. Im looking for more people.

With the ability for Voice chat in discord, it can be a live played game, or a play by post depending on how the gm and players would want to run it. I'd be up for it, depending on the days and times.

Even though it is organized, I don't grok Discord organization. I'm old... school, and prefer forums

I have had a Skype (AD&D 1e) game going for over 2 years now. Real low tech, Skype for video/audio, cell phone texting for messages and maps

Im old and not tech savvy. Discord is great, I only use it for PbP.
