Warlock Fire Sponge spell

My gaming group came up with a tough nut Does the 7th level Fire Warlock spell 'Fire Sponge' work on plasma rounds? Would the plasma bolt from a NE plasma cartridge round be absorbed? Would the blast effect of a plasma missile?

The RBoM says it works on plasma energy blasts, like those produced by CS plasma rifles, NE PC weapons and wilk's PC smallarms.

The effects from a Plasma Warhead.....yes. It is a super NAPALM which means it is burning stuff. So it is Fire.

My version of the BoM doesn't have any of that. (BoM, Second Printing Oct 2003, p80) It primarily speaks to normal fires, then has a short paragraph about magic fires.

Just reread the text and I must of transposed the warlock firing the plasma bolts into the prevues paragraph in my head.

However, since the Fire Energy is transformed into plasma bolts...I would say that plasma Bolts equate to being fire, for this spell.
