Totality…who is traveling to go see it?
How many of you are going to travel to see / be in the totality for the solar eclipse this month?
Is the anybody that is already in the path of totality?

don't have to travel. i live along the path.
(actually, i'm darn near right down the middle of the totality path. our church is having a viewing. helps that the pastor [my father] is a part time astronomer.)

A full solar eclipse that will come right across St.Louis, that is going to be a whole lot P.P.E. erupting
over that ley line nexus : . A very interesting scenario to launch an adventure from, regardless
if you're playing Rifts, Beyond the Supernatural, or Heroes.

actually the arch (zipcode 63102) only gets a partial eclipse. it is literally right on the edge though, if you go 2 miles south-west, you get totality.

Wow that really specific, just two miles south makes that big of a difference.

well with the sun's brightness, even 1% is a lot of light.

I live in southern Illinois.
We'll get over two minutes of full eclipse.
There will be parties all over the place, but I'm thinking of just going up onto my roof.

Is going to do a road trip from the LA area to Idaho….somewhere near Idaho falls, I'm guessing, is where I will be.

Re: Totality…who is traveling to go see it?
Just got back from seeing it. Drove down to Madisonville, KY for the viewing. I had planned on going a little farther to Hopkinsville, but the bridges south have construction on them and it took an hour just to get into KY. I just wish I had a better camera. The pics I took don't look anywhere near as impressive as what my own eyes saw.

I went a few miles south, to my parents' place. Watched the Eclipse with family.

I ended up in the eastern Oregon town(?) called Lime. Just north of Huntington and Onterio.
The it was worth every mile I traveled since sat morning.

Re: Totality…who is traveling to go see it?
Other then that it goes dark during totality is that just before and just after totality the light from the sun turns from the ""normal"" yellow tinted light to a full white light.
some picts of the sun from my trip.
