Geniuses of HU
I need an official ruling just to clarify the rules on the Geniuses classes in HU Please be prompt and official not looking for home ruling looking for official.
I was looking at the Natural Genius, and noticed all the skills gained from the class (not schooling) can go above 98% (I know the additional stipulations and negatives to the roll apply, and a roll above 98% still fails). Dose the rest of the Genius classes follow the same rule when dealing with skills gained from the class? Dose it only apply to main skills, or to secondary as well?
Me and another HU fan were trying to figure out if it was the same, and I figured the best way to deal was an official ruling.
I was also wondering if their was a site or book that compiled the construction rules, or a pdf. Not just a compiling of the rules, but an official source so that way their is less conflicting data on how to build.

I think uh, Baron or DLDC might have something about that on their websites, not sure exactly.
The Genius classes state that only their skill(s) with their main building/construction subject goes beyond 98%, the Natural Genius goes beyond 98% with all skills, and Extraordinary I.Q. goes beyond 98% with the two skills chosen as your area of expertise.
Thanks that helps to clarify. Will read it over a few more times, and let it sink in.

Can they do magick?

Damn ICE/BCP/BorderPatrol! Damn everyone who won’t damn ICE/BCP/Border Patrol!! Damn everyone that won’t put lights in his windows and sit up all night damning CE/BCP/BorderPatrol!!!
If you support ICE/BCP/BorderPatrol at this point, you would have called the Gestapo on the people surreptitiously moving into your neighbor's attic and huffed that you were only following the law.

*hefts sword* Mmm, it's nice and all, but can you modify it into a spork?
An old man with glasses and a devious grin raises his hand. "I can but the throw range will suffer horribly. I think I can keep the same damage rate though."

Sure, lions and tigers are stronger...

I have a question relating to the Natural Genius (I'm currently playing one in our game).
What would the research time percentage be on a project for a character with an I.Q. score of 41? This includes having the laboratory spaces for high energy physics, metallurgy, etc.
A good example: the character is building a disintegrator ray (it halts the flow of electrons on an atom, causing dispersal of the particles). The disintegrator is a part of a much larger project, and the first step towards an actual molecular replicator (more like molecular and atomic conversion). The reason I ask is because in our last game, my GM allowed my character to roll on a grand total of 4 projects over the course of 3 in-game weeks. This also includes over a year of experimentation and computer-modeling research on a super computer.

Re: Geniuses of HU
I keep track of all my chars skills that go above 98. Listed like "98 (1XX)". Even if one Gm follows the rules strickly, another might not.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.
Each question should be give the canon answer 1st, then you can proclaim your house rules.
Reading and writing (literacy) is how people on BBS interact.

Re: Geniuses of HU
If you have finished the research, and have all the equipment prototype could take up to a year, and that's only bc you fail a roll, and have to start over. It could take longer it could take shorter. Though I am not an engineer, on the plus side the person who is writing Hardware Unlimited is, and I am hoping he has a built time requirements, if it is viable to have in the book.
