So does any one use, like or even Remember Rifts Manhunter?

Does anyone fine it at all useful?

Good Setting. Good Book.
Have not had any Players select OCCs from it yet or any RCCs.
As GM, I've used many things from it for NPCs over the years.

Funny, there was recently a poll about it. It is more popular and well known than many people are assuming.

i think its fun even if it is hella useless for a canon Rifts game coz its in a dimension that has nothing to do with the game. all u can rly use it for in a normal game is some random races and classes that have kinda weird stats. but its an awesome setting for a campaign & its a totes less silly space setting than phase world

Rifts Manhunter is just as useful as Rifts Wormwood, Rifts Phase World, Splicers, Rifts Skraypers, etc ... Its a Dimension Book. You Rift in, Rift out. Use whatever you like in Rifts Earth RCC/OCC wise...

I actually liked the book quite a bit. The only thing that bugged me were occasional omissions of rather important information on equipment.

Edit: Oh, and that picture of the busty cat girl. I know it's supposed to be sexually exaggerated, but the damn right paw / hand just seems really off in scaling and there is something odd about the positioning of the breasts. :-? )

Which equipment?

It's been a while since I actually looked at the book in depth. Someone mentioned it in a previous thread, which is the only reason I'm even mentioning it here.

It's funny this topic should pop up. I'm planning on running Manhunter.
With all the Rifts books available, I decided to reign it in to just 5 books.
Rifts original
Sourcebook one original
Conversion book one
Manhunter
Monsters and Animals

Not really using the Rifts background, just advntures in space.

PB settings?

The Manhunter Setting is not really one of PalladiumBooks (PB) but a conversion of another game company's setting.

PB settings include PF, HU,N&S, Recon, NS/NB, BTS, Rifts, PW, WW, ATB, Splicers, CE, SF, the Mech., and DR.

RT and TMNT are licensed other company's settings

Interesting. What type of campaign will you be using?

Still working it out. Nothing real complex or convoluted, just pure adventure.
Background based on somewhat Manhunter and Dragonstar, a D&D space campaign that was out a few years back for d20.
The goal is to use my collection of stuff from Star Wars, Gamma World, D&D, Star Frontiers, among others.
Video games, books, movies. Anything that I can swipe ideas from.
Since it mixes sci-fi and fantasy just about anything can be thrown in.

The characters will be space rangers, monster hunters, treasure seekers and so on.
I just want to keep it simple and fun. I'm tired of really complicated backgrounds with dozens of organizations and political implications.

On topic - Yes I have Manhunters. Got it from a friend who threw it in with some other books I got off of him. Never used it. I might raid it for idea's in the future, but will probably never use it as a stand alone "dimension" setting.

Yes! That is a really cool site. That is a true fan keeping the game alive.

For a long time I considered using a homebrew of Star Frontiers + D&D + Gamma World with a little Buck Rogers thrown in.

But Rifts/Manhunter is already a complete system, so it seems easier to work with.

EDIT: Maybe this could turn into a major project, as in coming up with a generic space game for the Palladium system.
Sure we have Manhunter, Robotech, Heroe's space, Phase World. But those are all tied into established backgrounds. I'd like to see all the basic space info in one book, ready to customize by the GM. Like GURPS Space or Hero 5th edition Star Hero.

Even a portion of AtB belongs to Eastman and Laird... the cool comic in the original where The Master is Raph., plus all the art was Laird. Plus PB took many liberties with TMNT and the original RT until HG became annal and TMNT just lost following :(

Loved Manhunter, the only problem was that if you crossed a Rifts chara. to Manhunter they were automatically the better or equal of nearly anything else  . A SAMAS pilot could hold up an entire space station as the number of MD weapons was kinda low and Power armor nearly non-existant. I've found it better to bring Manhunter to Rifts/Robotech than the other way around.

I occasionally allow Manhunter races to make cameos in my PhaseWorld-related posts, suggesting that they're part of the Three Galaxies, or may be dimensional slavestock/strandees trying to make their way through a harsh megaverse.

Just had an awful thought...what if the Children of the Void, with their bionic 'gifts'...were somehow linked to the evil intelligence behind THE MACHINE DIMENSION?!  :demon:
