I would rather see the marksmenship awards as badges and not ribbons. IIRC only the Navy and Airforce wear marksmanship awards as ribbons. The Army and Marine Corps wear badges.

while true that a CNC machine would not require clay molds, it should not be assumed that this makes it trivial to use a CNC machine to make something. for the most part, if you're going to make ONE copy of something, you'll probably get it done faster just using the mold, and without the chance that one incorrectly typed co-ordinate is going to botch the whole thing.
now, if you were going to make 50 of these things, it might be better to use the CNC...

Version 2.0 is nothing shy of a quantum leap beyond the earlier version, and I liked the earlier version.

DAD-GONE IT COLONEL! Soldier or not, you look SHARP! That means a lot coming from a grumpy old leatherneck. +1 all around and PLEASE keep up the good work. I have only 1 caveat, everything that's not custom made requires links or other contact information because this Marine wants to be like you, Soldier.
There should be a specific sub-forum of the Rifts forum dedicated to the only hope for salvation of the human race, the Coalition States.
The next time you get your CS Colonel garb on and do angry skipper, could you break out a knife hand instead of a pointed finger...sorry, it's a marine thing...knife hand means business...especially when it immediately follows a finger snap.

Well I will say I like everything about your post except the colors of the uniforms. As the CS Aviators (except for the naval aviators) are part of the army, they'd have the same uniform as the army (perhaps different piping), and I don't see the CS Navy adopting White, but I could see blue-black or blue-grey.

They're not bad but I, personally, don't see the "CS" in them. I understand it's a variation, but looking back at the Rifts RPG p.50 and at CWC pp. 54 & 55 there are many differences, mainly the uniforms don't actually button up (except the CS Infantry Grunt CWC p. 55) they sorta seal up along the edges (they are apparently a "one piece" center flap that may open along one side or the other as the wearer chooses) and originally the medals were worn center for the Infantry Grunt/Non-com (?) (Rifts RPG p. 50, pg. left), left breast for the Officers Dress (I assume it's dress, it has a "ceremonial" dagger on the hip, pg. center) and again center for the "Undress uniform" (wearer MAY be Dog Pack Officer judging by the spikes, pg. right) w/extra rank insignias on the collar and the CS Death Head brooch at the joining of the torso flap and the collar, holding rank braids. In the Original SB on p. 23 we see Gen. Underhill wearing the "standard" CS uniform. Rank insignias are on the right shoulder w/ CS armband on the Left. In the RPG pictures there are apparently (it's too hard to tell accurately) no name tags present, tho' we do see some in CWC. They might have none (like in Star Trek or Star Wars) or they might use the velcro ones like we're using today.

Col. McBride Tyson wrote:While I see your side and respect your opinion on the matter. I am just going by what I have seen and come to conclude from the information presented in the books. P.32 of Sourcebook 4 CS Navy has a picture of a Navy Sailor in Uniform walking up some steps. And Even though the picture is black and white. When I look at the picture, with the way the shading was added I always seen a white uniform for some reason. One page 85 of CWC It shows the (Air Force) as having a slightly different variation of the CS Army uniform. I always figured that there was a small push within the Chain of Command. Basically the Fly Boys, Trying to push for their own branch of the military, and being the cocky pilot jockeys trying to separate themselves from the Army they are would have adapted not only a variation on the standard uniform but went with a shade of blue of some sorts when it came to the dress uniform. Again this is my own conclusion. As far as the Navy goes I do like the sound of Blue-Grey or Black.
I can certainly see where you'd come to that conclusion about it. I never saw the CS Navy uniform as white, in part because it is the CS, and white doesn't fit their style. I just figured it was a lighter gray than the normal uniform, blue grey was a natural fit with the water setting. Naval Infantry would combine that with an infantry uniform. I'd see Fly Boys with their own awards and badges, and they definitely have a bit more flare to their uniforms, but it looks fundamentally the same as the infantry uniforms (different shoulders, etc).

Actually the Grunt on page 55 of CWC has a name tag (and its not an artist's signature). The Duty uniforms of the B-Team of the Dirty Thirty (Coalition Overkill, Siege on Tolkeen 2, p. 33) has name tags as well - but you're probably right in them being velcro like today's military. Also take a look at page 76 of the same book (some juicers are raining down death from above on some unarmored grunts). You are right that some of the uniforms seem to favor the flap, while others favor buttons. Duty uniforms seem to be button, while dress uniforms seem to be flap (though there does seem to be a pair of buttons on SOME of them).
And that bit with the ribbons and awards being in the center isn't reflected in any later pictures, so its probably an aborted idea (whether its one KS aborted, or one Breaux aborted on his own I don't know - but the Siege book art seems to follow the CWC example more so than the original book).

Can't argue that. Some of the uniform depictions from various books DO show name tags, and I'm definitely not sure of what KS or Breaux really think the CS uniforms should be. I could see that each branch may have a variation on the central theme. Looking thru CWC I see what you mean, how some have buttons as well as flaps (maybe velcro for the "flap only" ones?) For me it was more that the uniform Col. Tyson displayed (w/buttons up the center) didn't match MOST pictures of the CS uniforms the exception being the one in CWC p.55, it is still an excellent uniform and I look forward to more it just doesn't quite seem "Coalition" to me. Maybe they did drop the idea of center placing ribbons.

I can TOTALLY understand the issue of cost and if KS gives it his seal of approval then that's good enough. Love the one in the link above, that looks just how I imagined some of the other uniforms. Is that one of your CS designs too or from something else? Any thoughts on what the ribbons would look like? How different do you think they'd be from current ones?

Thats a Battlestar Galactica Uniform Jacket. They are around 400$ for a full uniform. But I just dont like the quality, my uniform jacket was made by Marlow White Uniform Company. They make military uniforms and alterations for the US Army, Airforce, Navy and Marines. Not to mention law enforcement agency's. They told me they could add the flap hence the added cost, its just not a uniform style you see now a days. It is actually an old design.
Ah! Ok, for a moment there I thought it was Babylon 5. Keep up the good work!

Palladium books links... If you see the word Palladium- It will link back to the Palladium Books site in most cases. This makes the document a little more interactive.
A basic Book Mark structure is offered for a quick jumping to a section. Since Adobe reader offers page views on a side panel it is easy to move through pages with that.
Characters submitted are kept as close to the original as the submitter intended. So I left a few inconsistencies in place to keep the flavor of the creators character.
Finally Some of my art and design - Which might not be such a great feature - Heck it is free. This inclusion is a bit more work then I thought it would be.
Limitations.... There are some Errors in spelling that I may have missed.
