Tell as much or as little as you want/remember. Wish that I could play as much as I used to...

Msoki: 3rd level human ranger. Wilderness guide from the east.
Hallah: 5th level human diabolist. Wanderer, wanted to see the world and meet those living in it. And draw it/them.
Sisiver: 3rd level elf druid. Hoof animal totem. "I hate faeries but I can't, so I'll convince myself I don't."
Hige: 4th level gnome healer. Wandered the land with a priest friend.
Zhaniel: 4th level human diabolist. Researcher, historian, and chronicler.
Potpo: 3rd level troll mercenary. Not very good at being a mercenary (or a troll) though. Manic-depressive.
Francis: 3rd level human assassin. Thug with ambition (wanted to be Robin Hood).
Trilvinius: 2nd level elf tumbler. Kicked out of circus; freelance spy.
Gooch: 2nd level troll soldier/marine. On a boat in the south.

Most of my PF characters had names that begin with S.
  1. Sip Kouk: 4th level border soldier in Timiro. Absolutely no sense of humour.
  2. Skuruin from the North: 4th level human mercenary. Self-styled psychologist.
  3. Sunsu: 3rd level huan paladan. Philospher warrior looking for a good conversation or a fight.
  4. Sir Linus: 5th level wizard. Introverted kleptomaniac and collector of blank notebooks and blank paper and fancy writing utensils.
  5. Sachargel: 4th level Air/Fire warlock. Addicted to southern tea. Avoids all other beverages.
  6. Slupine: 2rd level wolfen mercenary. Always tries to fight the weakest looking opponent.
  7. Saggins: 3rd level human shaman. Phobia of slimey things, will not step on a crack or other line on the ground, if while inserting food into his mouth it touches his lips he must put the food down and try again.

Munchie like dragon food or munchie like munchkiny?

What about him? :)

We always start new campaigns so we don't get high level guys often.

I have literally played dozens of different characters of all different races, OCC's and levels. Far too many to list here. But some of the best ones are....

Lady Ariana Moonstone- Human Palladin (Currently level 12) A primary heroine in my biggest campaign setting, the Shadow War. Turns out to be a Demi-God daughter of Rurga, and is tied to the prophecy of the Goddess supposedly being slain by her own daughter.

Kestrel Cortal "Falcon"- Human Ranger (Currently level 11) A human from the Northern Wilderness. His parents (and his little sister) were druids, his father actually doing a tour as the Grand Druid for a number of years. They were all laid low by a band of renegade Minotaurs from the Bruu Ga Belimar mountains and Falcon is currently on a life quest to catch these monsters and get back the special Druidic Totem rings that his parents created. He, too, is a well known hero of the Shadow War. At some time in his past Falcon ran afoul of a werebeast and has been cursed with Lycanthropy, transforming into a Were-panther by the light of the full moon.

Reaper- With a name like that, he's got to be an assassin. (Current level is 14, and it's all earned folks.) One of my longest played and survived characters. Reaper came up through the ranks of a Western Empire assassins guild and was, it seemed, destined for greatness until the day that he was hired to kill a woman that he literally fell in love with on sight and could not kill. He then became a wanted man with a bounty placed on his head by the guild. He spent more than a decade running from them before falling in with the heroes of the Shadow War and proving himself surprisingly heroic. During the course of this campaign he becomes a chosen of Panath and the leader of his own assassins guild based out of a city in the Eastern Territory called Peacehope. (This city is my own creation and is the home base of the heroes in the Shadow War.)

Destiny- Wizard (Level 20) Okay, so he's an NPC, but he still qualifies as one of the most unique characters I've ever created, and since I'm usually the Game Master, I play him during the games. The cool thing about Destiny is that, in addition to being in charge of the Peacehope Mages guild, he is also a metamorphosized Thunder Lizard! Ariana looks upon Destiny as a kind of... mysterious uncle.

Let's see, maybe one more... but who?

Ahh yes.

Wolfgar Graybeard- Dwarven Mercenary (Level 15) A time lost warrior from the days of the Elf Dwarf war. Gar was discovered in suspended animation by Ariana's Father, Sir Donovan Moonstone, and was one of the knights most stead fast friends and companions. He has spent the years since his awakening learning the ways the world has changed since his slumber began. Since the death of Donovan, Gar has taken on the role of mentor and surrogate uncle to Ariana and her sisters (of which there are three). It is a closely guarded secret, known only to his most trusted friends, that Gar was the King of a Dwarven clan during the war, and is currently believed to be the only living Rune Smith on all of Palladia!
This world is far too small not to want to see it all, but life is far too short to allow that to happen. - Falcon, Ranger (My primary hero in PFRPG setting)

"Unhand me you slobbering son of an Orcish whore!" - Ariana Moonstone, Palladin (Another primary character of mine.)

"Bastard!" War cry of Strut, Barbarian Mercenary. (That's for you James!)

Some interesting character stories going on there.

Sometimes I wish we played characters longer than we do. We're just not into big long epic save the world campaigns. We just sort of sit around and do group story telling and occassionally a die is rolled hehe.

Here's some from my dead PCs:

Bruumhilda: 4th level human priestess of light. Home grown pantheon based loosely on Greek mythology. Enemy of the Alligator God, another home grown god. She died during an intelligence gathering mission as the two sides were on the brink of war.

Sonny Pfaff: 1st level human thief. Almost made it to level 2 hehe but died trying to scale a cliff. Damn climbing skill :x

Magdalena: 5th level human ranger. She never could hold a job. Participated in Timiro border guards' missions in the mountains and some incursions into the Old Kingdom. Wilderness guide for adventure tourists wanting to see ogres in the wild. Joined and assisted a party in an overland trek through the eastern territory north. Died in the crossfire so to speak of a wolfen-human skirmish.

Czssk: 4th level Quillback Scavenger. I don't remember a whole lot about him. But he was funny.

Let's see, a couple more from my bag of characters.

Jessica Starchild- Formerly an angel in the service of Ra, fallen from grace because of her propensity for falling in love with mortals. The Sun God made her mortal, though very powerful, in the hopes of teaching her how much better life was as a Seraph.

Feral- High Orc Ranger. This guy was ostracized from his clan for killing one of his own. The clan had been existing since the days when High Orcs were prolific in secret. There numbers were so small that killing one of their own was a crime of the highest order. But they have no punishment involving a death sentence, as that would just cause their numbers to diminish more. Thus, Feral was forced to go out in the world and exist among people who didn't understand him and thought his kind extinct. A very violent but very memorable character.

Sir Avalon Charm- A knight from Byzantium. His father was in some way related to the King, and Avalon spent his life trying to prove that his title and status were more than just a birth right. A truly brave man and a great warrior. Also quite the ladies man. Would probably be considered a "pretty boy" today.

HI All. One I had alot of fun with is a Ratling-Master Collector. Yes he was a PACK-RAT!! He was also armed with a whip and pistol crossbow. (CAN NOT WAIT FOR the NEW INDIANA JONES MOVIE). HE also wore a large hat to reduce the light. He was VERY Weak compared to the rest of the group but was a BLAST TO PLAY. I would do it again!!

Tatyana Fyre (Tanya to her friend, "Blaze" by reputation)-
Blaze is an Undead Hunter hailing from my custom city in the Eastern Territories called Peacehope. Her mother, Countess Penelope Shroude, is one of the rulers of that city and her father was a powerful Priest of Light who had been married to her mother but was killed by a Vampire that seduced him into letting down his guard. Blaze was sent to school to learn the arts of the warrior mage, otherwise known as Undead Hunter, and she specialized in vampires. Eever since becoming a Hunter, she has dedicated her existence to finding the vamp that killed her father, who died before she was old enough to really get to know him. Of course, she does her duty of ridding the world of other undead filth along the way. She is becoming quite well known in the Empire and the Eastern Territories, and is starting to earn a reputation in Timiro as well.

Lance Crowe-
A Witch Hunter, and Blaze's partner. She is perhaps the only person in the world that knows he is truly a Changeling. Lance was cursed many years ago with the curse of rags, which means any clothing he wears, no matter how nice, is reduced to ratty looking old garments, usually within twenty-four hours. Though this seems like a pretty simple curse to fix, he and Blaze have spent years looking for a way to remove it. This is especially important to Lance as his insanity is an obsession with beautiful women, and he is typically a fashion plate, the better to attract them. Until he can kick this curse, he is finding it very difficult to get females to notice him. (He does not know that the reason his curse is so hard to remove is that it was placed upon him by the Goddess Tolmet, who was angered that he denied her his affections.)

Vance Falcone-
The third and final member of this party, Vance is a Holy Crusader in the service of the church of light, paying his homage and tithes to Ra, the Sun God. Vance's father, Major Ravishe Falcone, is a corrupt and ruthless Janissary from the Western Empire who was sent to Peacehope to act both as a spy and the officer responsible for keeping the peace there. Vance, who is the polar opposite of his father, trained to become a Holy Crusader in the hopes of dispelling some of the shadow that his father has cast over their family. He was once romantically involved with Ariana Moonstone (see my first post to this thread) and is now actively pursuing Blaze, though she is far too preoccupied with her hunt to show any interest in men. Of course, that just makes him all the more determined. 8)

Valenthalas wrote:Most of my characters are unique to a vast world that I've been working on for over 10 years and have run many many campaigns on. It is much different than the standard Palladium fantasy world with many new classes, many reworks of old classes, and some are completely replaced (i.e. there is no "warlock" OCC, it has been replaced with the Elementalist, and it is NOT the Elementalist OCC created by nexx nor inspired in any way by it *never heard of his when I created mine many years ago*)

Lazarus Valikai - Valorian (elven culture) bladedancer/ranger
Valenthalas - Elarian (another elven culture) Knight of Cyrenous (special "templar" class)
Asura - human Psychomancer
Cyan Flameblade - Tocary (new RCC) Phoenix Knight (racial specific OCC)
Darius - human Enchanter
Xavian Dulak - human Ranger
too many more to name.

Sounds something like what I've done. I'd be interested in hearing more about your work on the game! Just your class titles sound good. (I've been working on mine for close to fifteen years now.)

Mine is more or less a bunch of new creations that exist within a small kingdom within the Palladium World at large. I like Palladiums world, but I've always felt there were some things that could have been done better, or different... so I did them! I've got literally hundreds of different write-ups, some of which I've shared on these forums. Most of them I'm keeping for myself. I'm greedy like that! 8)

It's kind of wierd, there are a lot of parallels here. In my case, I started out gaming and turned to writing stories based on my sessions. Turned out I was pretty good (so others tell me) and everyone who reads them wants me to keep writing. Of course, the inspiration for my writing comes from gaming, so it all works out pretty well. Everyone is happy. We game, I write, it all works out pretty well.

I like the idea of the players journal from the characters perspective. I doubt my players would ever get that involved. I might have to ask them about it though. It could be a good way to get some added insight.

Valenthalas, do you find that being a writer as a hobby makes your GMing skills better? I feel it makes me a better storyteller (which I think my kids would agree with), and that in turn translates into a better GM. I think it has something to do with the way a writer thinks.

I do the same thing. I'm constantly stopping for what appears to others as no reason and scribbling something into my notebook, which I always carry with me. Anyways, if we want to continue this conversation we should probably start a new thread, we're kind of off subject and monopolizing this thread! (Sorry folks)

I played a demi-goddess once who was the daughter of Od. I found the simplest way was to stat her up as another race and OCC than I was "actually" playing; I wanted to do an Elven Psi-Mystic, but my GM was scared of me having psionics, so I played an Elven Priest of Light... who considered herself to be a human Mercenary.

Since when does there have to be a rule about something in order for it to be played in PF, or any other Palladium setting? That's one of the great things about this system. Anything you want to play, you can play. The only limit is how far your imagination can stretch.

Ah, my mistake, sword-dancer. Typically, when I do something like a Demi-God, I don't think it's unreasonable to give the character a boost in HP/SDC, at least one attribute that's supernatural (in Ariana's case it was PB) and one or two abilities inherited from the deific parent. In this case, I made Ariana a human lie detector and able to pick up and use any type of weapon on the field of battle at a proficiency equal to her current level. This may sound munchkiny, but, well, she's a demi-god, and also these abilities were granted her as she progressed in levels, I didn't start her out with anything buy the lie detector. Otherwise, she was a typical human Palladin.

my Favorite character of all time . . he got mega lucky rolls, GM verified!

Indubitably- Troll, vegetarian, Mind Mage,
this guy had the Luck of the Irish when created!
12' tall, high PS and PP and IQ and ME
He was a pacifist until you made him bleed, then he would bash you physically and mentaly until you realized the error of pissing him off!
I retired him to an NPC and made him an Alchemist, he just had to much charisma to let go by the wayside.
I now use him as the questmaker for games, he lives in Old Timoro and teaches at the University there but does not wander the streets much. He has befreinded a group of street urchins and they are his eyes and ears in the city.
I have also made Albino when he was made an NPC to keep him indoors and from joining the party to "help"- as an Alchemist he would be too powerful and I want the players to make decisions, not me! :)
The answer to Life the Universe and Everything is 42!!! but just what is the question? hmm . .

When I first started I had GM duty most of the time, but I've had a chance to play in a few campaigns as well...

Sir Jerell Whiterose:8th level by campaigns end A principled elf palladin, specailizing in two handed swords, with a heart of righteous fire, and compasion for the defenseless. It was in a friends campaign, that used the Palladium rules, but the world was his own design. Jerell ended up doing some pretty heroic stuff, including bashing a troll down with his shield, and leading a charge of cavalry to break a siege on a city. The campaign ended with a show down detween an evil gawd or demi-gawd, and most of the party died beside the human actress, Jerell, and the elven assasin with us who ended up blinded in the final fight. Jerell and the Assasin started their own school for warriors and warfare and spiritual learning after everything was said and done.

Helmillia Greyaxe: 4th level female ogre Merc/Pirate Currently a character I run when my friends and I can get together. Is the only character in our group to ever get a confirmed alchemist kill. Call it a lucky crit if you want...

Palladium Characters I have played

Unread post by arthurfallz »

Played a few, but the most important is...

Aedicina Moneo: 4th level Human Wizard... the girl who tasted every potion and ended up being turned into a tree for her foolishness.... good times, good times.

Kalana Moneo: 3rd level Sphinxi Wizard (Sphinxi were a hybrid of elves and sphinx), Aedicina's alchemically created daughter.

Umm... the tree would release versions of herself each spring, the first of which was named Elohra. Elohra experimented with a crossbreeding spell (after having changed herself into an elf by use of a notorious magic circle), and Kalana was the result of an experiment between herself and a sphinx.

Elohra's one of my creepier characters.

Zel is a Crusty Sea Dog who knows all the best (and worst) Taverns and Brothels from Bizantium to the Land of the South Winds and can find discounted Drinks or Whores at any of them, he is also much feared by Sheep and Cabin Boys in all of the Bizantium Fleets.

Wow! Those are some backgrounds thar!

Those characters sound most interesting. Suddenly I feel in the mood for a nautical adventure...

Avast!

Grug Grayaxe: Old kingdom Ogre, Mercenary Warrior, older brother to the pirate captain Helmila Grayaxe and Husband to the Gnomeish master thief Gnimisch Gnort! He is also a honored warrior in a couple of nations and the heir to his tribe!

Ranger #7: A insane elven ranger who would shoot first and would then forget to ask the questions later. For the most part He wore a wolf's head on top of his head until he got his +1 vs. Fairies hat. prowling was impossible since there was a little bell at the top of the hat that went jingle, jingle whenever he moved! Also grab the crotch and bit the neck of an evil god.(Got 100 gold for it)

So... you are indeed my brother... I didn't know you posted here! :-D

You forgot to mention that Grug is known as the "Undefeated of the East." :bandit: Now what's all this about Grug and Gnimisch married? I mean I know they shared an igloo once... but I never heard of this... You trying to claim commonlaw or what? And what would Grug's mother Brunhilde have to say about that!? Oh the humanity! I can see it now = :x :badbad:

Now as for me I also ran a character named:
Yellow Five An elven thief, that used a crossbow, and wore black leather... Now there's a surprise. He did however invent the usage of a highly flamable alchoholic drink known as Zog's XXX Troll Brew, as a Molotov cocktail. The world has never been teh same since he burned down that bar...

Well I have only had two PF characters, all my time was spent GMing.

Vance Silverstar 7 th lvl elf assassin. Left little silver stars as a call sign when he eliminated a target. Was aberrant so he had a pretty strict code of honor and ethics.

Thorin a 3 rd lvl elf paladin of Rurga. Best know for the tendency to throw the weapons he had in hand at targets out of reach then charge while drawing a back up. Hurled a flamberge at a dwarfling while blinded from a blinding flash spell. Rolled a natural 20 to hit.

in 18 years of playing I've only played 3 characters. The rest of the time I had to be the GM.

A Longbowman, can't remember his name now, but he had only eight fingers thanks to Rolemaster critical hits tables we were using.

A changling psionic, who started a thieves guild then became a false prophet and convinced people to go on a holy pilgramage. The captain of the ship they chartered was in his employ and they sold the pilgrams as slaves. Hey! it was a Thieves World setting. This character never actually physically killed anyone.

Orc Ranger, Grummish. In the our Avengers campaign. Everyone played a demi-human character, orc, goblin, ogre, kobold whos family had been killed by "adventurers". Basically an Anti-adventurer campaign, tracking down and killing humans, elves, dwarves after they had raided dungeons and killed everyone.

ew.... I like the Sir Lorgan dude. That one has character. :bandit: I also like the fact you ran him as truely believe in a certain social system. That's a good twist from your normal Ogre. Cheers.

I GM alot But Ive 2 characters Ive played more than once and we also like epic campaigns. i find it hard to not get carried away with sequels and recurring villians.

Bremmold Eldritch "The Dark Elf" (Fear his name!) "Alchemist" (actually 6th lvl wizard, 6th lvl diabolist, 5th summoner atm - still in middle of a campaign - about to be burnt as a witch :x ) Obvioulsy the mage of the group. Was taught diabolism by an Arch fiend he summoned and so he doesnt know runes and every time he uses a ward the sky becomes overcast and stormy. Also has about 6 multiple personalities including "Bracula"- thinks he's a vampire, "Brokum"- thinks hes an angel and some more I cant mention in case othe PCs read post. Anyway as he only know half dozen additinal spells he's probably the weakest alchemist ever but it takes a lot of devotion to learn 3 OCC's.

Beauckle; A Wolfen gladiator (5th) and shaman (7th) (1st edition) of southern jungles (specifically Lopnel but Lopnel has crappy spells so he has to worship Tark too  ). In actuality he is really a changeling who's attributes hide him quite well as a wolfen or orc (his PS is unusually 22! Running makes his spd wolfen-like). TBH I had a changeling shaman and wanted to play a wolfen gladiator and I thought hey Lopnel wouldnt mind that. He also uses his spells to cheat whilst in the arena (all his spells are combat based - strength, speed of snail, fleet feet, heal self, control beasts, curses etc.)
All the other PC's he's with are wolfen too .

BTW we all love multiple OCCS - lets you do epic campaigns but keeps the players interested and working towards something. Takes some GMing to get the levels right and what do u do when they become too powerful - take them to Regnum, Hades, Wolfen wars and Ragnarok!!
Rifter 52 Cannibal Magic
Rifter 55 The Ancestral Mystic P.C.C.
Rifter 59 The Lopanic Games adventure "The Lion, the Ditch & the Warlock". Illustrations to this adventure can be found here.

I've never really like doing multiple OCC's for my chatacters. I usually go with straight knight or Palladin any way, with the ocasional pirate. But I love epic stuff too. Although a knight or palladin and priest mix would be interesting...

In twenty plus years I've played a lot less than I've GM'd, so I've come to use my NPC's as characters and one of my favorites, mostly because of the hell he raised in game, was an elven wildman. (I created this guy long before the Rifter depicting them came out.)

His true name was Lobosos Fenry, but his own growing local legend referred to him as Wolfman. He was elven, but pretty much all vestiges of his elf self were lost to him. Even his facial features had some oddly canine traits, something that the characters, in researching him, found out runs in the family. This guy wound up following the group for weeks without them becoming even slightly suspicious until they were in combat and lost their ranger. They wound up getting lost in the Vequerrel Woodlands where Wolfman made his home. He became infatuated (obsessed) with my wife's elven archer, a woman with Supernatural PB and one night while she was on guard duty he approached her, attempting to communicate. He of course knew only to speak to animals so she couldn't talk to him. For several nights they attempted to talk to each other from a distance with the archer not telling the other group members about him for fear of scaring him off. She got the shock of her life a few nights later when he suddenly got brave and visited her in her tent. That wasn't the shock, the shock was that she couldn't resist him and they had sex! This happened many more times and not just with her, but other women the wildman encountered. The men in the group, especially the archers' current lover became enraged and tried to get rid of him. It turned out that a natural ability common to all men in the Fenry family (a noble family from the Land of the South Winds) have the innate ability to emit pheromones which help to attract the opposite sex. Since he had never been trained in its use, Wolfman simply emitted them all the time while the other males of the family can control it, using it only when they need to. The last time they saw him he had successfully lead them to the edge of the wilderness then disappeared back into his forest. This was a physically exhausing time for the female characters in the party (there were three at the time). But especially the archer, who was his favorite.
