New PF books?

Unread post by enyggma514 »

So I'm just beggining to really get into the PFRPG. I'm hoping to run my first campaign soon. One thing i've noticed is that Rifts and the other palladium games seem to have sourcebooks published more frequently than the PFRPG. Yet while reading through some of the books I already have I have seen them hint at a Wolfen wars series that is supposedly coming out. What about Land of the Damned 3? Are these actually ever going to come out? Has anyone heard about any plans for new Fantasy material?

Also does the Rifter normally have some good stuff for PFRPG?

Yes, Kevin has stated in several of his recent murmurs that there IS a couple new Palladium Fantasy books in the works. as well as new Nightbane books, two worlds that have been dormant for far too long.

It was said that the next PF book would be coming out sometime next year. So add in the 'PB is always late with their books' into the equation and you get maybe fall 08 or spring of 09.

Well, to quote Kevin in a recent privet message:
I hope to reprint the Wolfen Empire book within the next couple of months.
Land of the Damned 3 needs a complete and total rewrite.
Yin Sloth Jungle should reappear next year. (2nd edition version)

Hope to come out with a couple of new Palladium Fantasy books this fall.

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda

One must also remember that someone is needed to write all those PFRPG books that you want. Kevin is limited in time to do more work on them himself. Robotech is taking a big chunk of time. He's sitting on probably 10-20 manuscripts for every line not to mention has several he wants to see done himself, namely the two BTS books. Good news is, Palladium is leveling off in the financial woe dept., which means good things. While patience may be stretched thin, do know that his other lines are important. I've heard many times before "People for some reason only want to write for Rifts. I'd love to see people do more for the other lines."

Who knows, maybe you (yes, you, as in anyone reading this) and I can help. Never know.

but, lets all hope

I firmly believe that Rifts is only their best seller because it's the only thing they come up with new stuff for! If they'd come up with new PF stuff, that would rapidly become their new best seller. (It seems logical to me. The system you write the most stuff for, is the system that's going to sell the best.) So start writing more PF, which is obviously in high demand considering all the threads about it on this site, and you might find a new popular system in the company! Come on Kevin, back to the original. PF needs more stuff!!!!

I've had a few ideas South Winds way, but never proposed it; not enough concrete thoughts to do it, and more projects ahead of it.

I'd like to see your take on the Palladium of Desires.

There's some things about PF that I never want to see in a source book.

Palladium of Desires is one of them.

But then again sometimes I'm really, really curious to know.

personally i think there is alot of subject matter left in the palladium world... cyclops island for one, the islands of phi and lopan... along with the kingdom of timiro.. i haven't read much about any of those. not to mention lost civilizations and the such that could become alternate books.

Cyclops is detailed a little bit, but there are so many story lines that can go from there. and once again Phi and Lopan are the same, but all of these only fill 20 pages or less of reading. that was what was meant by that post.

Now, there's the Stilt City article in Rifter 17. And there's a bit in Library of Bletheriad, under the currency section.

We need for PF..

Old Kingdom
Land of the South Winds
Those are the most imperative.
Then LoD3.
Wolfen Wars I could live without completely.
The new PF that are supposed to be coming out are Mysteries of Magic and another one.

Stilt City is a town in the LoSW, and at least a couple of NPCs also.

Only, if you read them they are presented as M.D.C. worlds (at least Hades is since Dyval hasn't come out yet), with S.D.C. notes. Hardly PFRPG source books. They can be used with PFRPG, but then again so can the Conjuror O.C.C. from Federation of Magic and a lot of stuff from Rifts (also HU2, Ninja & Super-Spice, and TMNT for that matter), doesn't make them PFRPG sourcebooks.
