"Lost In The Translation..."

One of the things I like to do with a character is inject tidbits of "native language" when said language isn't American/English... which is a little bit of a challenge when playing face-to-face but easier when playing a PbP or PBeM.

Here are a couple of online translator sites I like to use:

Dictionary.com: A pretty good one that covers most of the more popular choices.

InterTran: An even better one that includes less popular choices like Welsh (which I'm currently using for Dragonese/Elven) and Latin (for those who want that "Harry Potter" feel when spellcasting).

Just thought I'd share. Enjoy. :ok:

I don't think a mass driver cannon could save this thread. :D
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

"As you will it, your Grace."

Well, kind of... there is also this site, which converts English phrases into Klingon, Vulcan, Romulan, and Esperanto. I could see Klingon passing for Gobblely.

Currently I am in the same PBP as Servo and I told him that I am going to try and come up with an "official" language for technocan, for all you nitpickers and rules lawyers please notice the "" around the word official basically I'm going to use it and Servo recommended that when I come up with the list to post it here. Anyways it's things like instead of saying "sweeping for tracking bugs", my operator says "dusting for insects" . anyway that's my two cents on trying to be unique with in game languages.
