The beginning of a new project, bringing some traditional conspiracy theories into the Nightbane world, detailing secret societies older than the modern factions. Also partly inspired by Stephen Esdale's old Phantom Societies netbook, as well as bits and pieces from Dark Matter and Delta Green.
Ancient Conspiracies
And yes, this does tie in with Shadows of the South, but like Bardic Lores, it's separate.

To tell the truth, I've never been all that fond of the Templars. And, as Jeffar said, they appear in the last two books (the group in TTGD are actually false Templars started by a con artist, but hey). The Freemasons do have some ties to the Templars (IIRC some conspiracy theorists link the two and the Templars were one incarnation of the Freemasons, but I don't care for that).
And, yes, I know in some conspiracy theories either the Rosicrucians and Companions of Horus are the same group, or the Rosicrucians and Freemasons are related, but I've got some...interesting ideas in that regard. If I can get time to write it up.

The True Templars from TTGD are indeed fakers. However, the real Templars show up in Shadows of Light.
