Deck Plans and Pyramid Maps - Gauging Interest

Unread post by Carl Gleba »

Hey everyone

For those going to this years (2018) POH I was thinking of having some of the maps and deck plans I created printed up. All those in the poll are in color. I'll try and keep costs down, but it depends on the quantity of maps I have printed. My goal for cost is $5 a map or $20 for a set. Also would anyone be interested in electronic copies? I'll put a bunch of stuff (all the above and more) on a CD for sale. I'll include PDF's, JPG, and the CC3 files for those that have the program. What would you pay for this?

Thanks for the feedback and let me know if you have any questions.

I like the idea of the pyramid and spaceship maps. I'm not sure their size but if they're on par with Palldium's prints (size and quality wise) I'd consider pricing the physical printa around that range, then adjusting up or down accordingly.

EDIT: I realized after posting that you were asking about pricing for the pdf's on disk and already knew what you wanted the prints to sell for. It's tough to really say about the disk... the Dyval and Hades maps are already available digitally on DriveThruRPG. That might be a good starting point. DriveThruRPG has typically been half the cost of the printed version. I'd say for a bundle maybe around $20?

Hades and Dyval Maps

I know Palladium has been busy lately, but for any published map they have the files and can put them up on Drivethrurpg.

I'll also have some non-published maps like the ship deck plans.

I sold enough to cover my cost for the prints, and my hotel room. I still have enough left for a future POH or a con.

have you considered selling them as PDF's through DrivethruRPG? either as PB products or under your own company name?

Since they’re all Palladium IP’s I don’t think I could sell them online. The limited print run was with Kevin’s permission. Kind of like when the artist sell copies of their art. I’ll talk to Kevin about it at some point and see what guidance he gives me.
