Open House Predictions

Unread post by MurderCityDisciple »

I predict the next open house will be awesome.

I will spend over $100.

I will have to slam energy drinks to stay awake.

I will bring a comfy chair with me so my legs don't fall asleep.

I will offer up the two couches in my garage lair aka mancave to those who need somewhere to sleep. (Girlfriend permitting)

I will run at least two games.

Hendrik will drink Coors.

Next Open House I will be running a Bts game with my Tome Grotesque and Beyond Arcanum books.

I will buy at least 4 hot dogs.

I will bring my Chihuahua in a little dog boy costume and he will bark his way to victory.

I shall be there. This next time I will play in more than one game. We shall be stocked with espresso. I gave up coffee mostly. We'll see how that goes. The wife needs it, so we'll have tons. I'll bring beer for me. Not to worry, I keep it at the hotel and don't drink til after dinner. No costumes unless the wife feels inventive. I tend to spend $100 on beer and maybe a bottle of booze. I don't drink the hard stuff, but others will. So I'm guessing I'll spend at least that on a bit on merch.

Ooooo, excellent threat MCD!

You cannot repeat perfect but you can have perfect more than once (meaning the Open House). Thus, then & there:

Hendrik WILL have 1 or 2 Coors to the surprise of all and none.

I will run 2-4 games. It will be mostly BtS games and I pray that MrLoucifer will make it to one, otherwise great C will be summoned!

I will kill 1 smurf in a random game of Lonnie. I will do that while I sleep. This time I might play a Crazy.

I might ;-) spend over 100 US in glorious Palladium books.

This time I will steal away for 1 Tigers' game to see when a certain Yankees fan will sing happily with a man from Kentuck and a Colonel from Michigan who will pay that 1 beer he owes me right when the Opera singer comes around and certain good friends from Britain will be there, too. Then I will be really happy! Especially because after the game there will be gaming.

I will see 1 Reelman with his lively lovely family.

This time I will make it to 1 Dark Elf game no matter what!

I will play together with Soldier of Od again!

I will see n-friends and talk and game 4 nights away.

This will happen. I predict 2015, I still hope for earlier.

It brings tears to my eyes.

In the most manly fashion.

With a grim determined plea:

I know it will be glorious!

Also, not a prediction but I always kind of expect Mad Man Mike to have crazy hardware protruding from the top of his head. I'm a bit let down that he doesn't have the option to get some. Well the future will be here soon enough. Then I can get my Juicer hardware installed and maybe actually play a sport or three.

I predict Kevin changes his mind and goes for a 2014 Open House!

I predict I will run at least 2 games at the OH and at least 1 at the hotel. At least one event will be Mechanoids using stuff from my Rifter0.1 supplement.

I predict I will hang with really cool people who I've disagreed with on these forums and whom have disagreed with me, yet miraculously in real life, everyone will have a really good time with each other.

And while there, if I drink beer, it certainly would never, ever be Coors. If you have to drink something owned by the Coors company, at least get a Blue Moon. If forced to drink something owned by Budweiser, go for the Shock Top.

Dang I was hoping for a MMA style 'Battle of the Palladium Forum Superstars' death tourney using Ninja's and Superspies.

I predict nothing but goodwill and the formation of lifelong friendships.

I have witnessed otherwise, but we can hope with a certain new leaf being turned over that some will actually head that advice. And really, is it not better to drink with enemies than to fight with friends?

Very true.

A few years ago I was at the Strategicon convention and I recognized that one of the guys at the table was somebody from RPG.net that had "fought with me" over how to properly play an elf or some such rules nonsense. We had a good time. At the end of the game, a buddy came over the table and addressed me as Spinachcat and the dude nearly lost his shiznak. He was stunned we had such a good time gaming together even though he thought "we were online enemies".

The joke was this. I am the same guy offline as online. I don't say anything online that I won't say to somebody standing in front of me, but the big difference was that in real life, the other guy got to see my body language, hear my vocal inflections and talk with me at the normal pace of conversation. AKA, we had real life dialogue, not thread posts. Nothing of my content had changed and he even noted that, but now the context was totally different.

Its amazing how much human communication is non verbal. How we say words is as important or even more important than the words spoken. And how we say something involves more than our voice. Ever had an argument on the phone about something so stupid that you know the disagreement would never occur face to face? This is why video conferencing is so important for overseas sales and corporate conferences. It diminishes the chance of misunderstanding.

Since that convention, we've gamed together several times and disagreed about stuff online a dozen more times. Forums are a truly terrible form of human communication and I believe that 90% of the butthurt would not occur in real dialogues.

I predict that I will run at least 3 games and will play in as many as 4.

This time I am determined to play in one of Kevin's games.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

I hope to play in one of Kevin's games.

Get Chuck to start on my drawing at the beginning of the convention, so that it is done by the end of it, and not ask for one near the end.

Play Robotech Tactics.

Not drink anything. Because I don't drink. Want to keep what few brain cells I have.

Play in as many Robotech and mecha games as possible( Glitter Boys!! )

Play the Rifts board game.
