Baseball Game

Unread post by The Dark Elf »

Ok, so it looks like my afternoon Thursday will be spent watching the Tigers play.

Having never been to a baseball game and wanting to book tickets today - where are the best seats?

Behind the dugout?
If Im in the upper infield are they still good seats?

I do want value for money, Im not about to rent out a box. :-)

TY

P.S. Hendrik, do you say you're going to the game? where you sitting?

Hi there, Dark Elf,

yup, I'll be there behind the Tigers' dugout. That is on 3rd base side, left of home plate if you look at the seating plan on the Tigers website. My ticket is in the lowest tier on that side.

You could PM me your mobile no. we could have a beer and if you had no transportation I could take you to the OH.

Cheers

Myself, Nick Bradshaw, Brandon Aten, Josh Sinsapaugh, and Jeff Hansen will be third row out in left field.

Anywhere in the park is good. Stay away from the upper deck.

Tempting. Tempting, indeed.

Now I could look at my ticket: where I shall sit happy as a pea in a pod (I hope) is called "on deck circle".

When you send me your mobile number I will send you mine and we can meet in the break, before or whatever is good.

Looking forward to see you and y'all,
Hendrik

On Deck circle is great! You're down by the action and will get to see everything. Hopefully the Opera hot dog vendor will be working that day. He's great. You'll know who he is without me having to explain.

On deck was too much cash.

Went with infield, third base, 132, row 30 seats 7 & 8. :erm:

Well, the ticket did not come too cheap. Hurt, but, hey, I never was to a baseball game, let alone in the US. It is bound to be one of the great sights, i.e. very typical. I like ballgames anyway and "stadium atmosphere". Also, the idea of baseball as such has always appealed to me - a game without a forced end, how cool is that. I am so looking forward to this.

Re the Opera hot dog vendor ... I assume I'll hear him ... and get me a Toska'ed hot dog :D

Cheers

Comerica Park (where the Tigers play) is one of the greatest ballparks in the US. I think you'll dig it.

1. Wrigley
2. Fenway
3. Great American Ball Park

These are my favorites in order, but I've never been to Comerica before, so that may change.

Camden Yards in Baltimore, a great place to see a ball game.
Wrigley is something every baseball fan should see and experience.
Nothing nice to say about Fenway so I will move along.

~laughs~ ha, that's close to where my wife and I sat last year. We were 123-30-9 & 10. Very good view from that basic area.

And yes, I'm a 6th generation native Texan, and I have to say that I love Comerica more than the Ball Park in Arlington. The architecture is nicely done, the carousel for the kids is awesome (all tigers!), the fans have a great vibe. You have to get a dog with grilled onions!

One last note....expect to pay $10 parking at a lot (there are many) about 4-5 blocks from the park and walking.

Have fun!

Slightly lower chance of taking a foul ball to the dome.

Slightly higher chance of being closer to the action when someone makes it home, or better yet steals it, or better yet the opposing team gets tagged trying either.
