OK reading Dan Browns Angels and Demons got me wondering..

Has anyone done any sort of writing on any group of scolars that would be at odds with any of the churches on the Palladium world?

I would think that after the Millenium of purification that some religious sects would be out to limit the advancement in science not just beacuse of the arguement that it seeks to disprove religions but also to prevent any big time abilities landing into the laps of mortals..

Immagine the WE with the atomic bomb so to speak...

Though they do it for different reasons, the Cult of Chantico is the biggest threat to world intellectualism in Palladium: see the Bletherad source book for details of their centuries long campaign to annihilate all scholarly material on the planet. Bletherad also notes issues with members of various churces trying to destroy or steal works they consider "heretical" or threats to their beliefs. That's the book you'll be wanting for all the juicy details.

Yeah but thats not the same angle I was looking for...

The Cult of Chantico wants to simply obliterate learning and books all in all... What I was going for was a more of a "We think your theory of evolution is blasphemous" sort of thing..
