I do not do a lot of posting, by I have started checking these forums on a regular basis just to see updates to the story. I am enjoying it. Keep up the good work.

Well there is a third player in the game now.. As far as the help/hindering goes, so far he has been more then helpfull..

Good.. I'm goiing to be adding maps that I use/made/copied/borrowed from other games.

The Necromancer had only been there a few years. He used to work as a doctor in the Seven Sisters but when the word got out that he was reanimating patients and devouring brains of the recently deceased he was forced to flee. Unfortunately for him it happend to be just before the beginning of winter.

The only reason he survived is beacuse he not only found the cave but was able to canabalize through out the winter on the corpses of the barbarians. (They had a battle with another rival tribe) As he stayed he moved the bodies into the back chambers so as not to be discovered by the savage people who left their dead there..

When word readched him of the fall of the Baehag he plotted to take Tohatha with a massive army of corpses risen up from the large graveyard. Then his undead army would march upon the Seven Sisters.. Or even better if he could learn how the Baehag inflicted the curse upon the town his revenge upon the Seven Sisters would be even better!

But alas he died... However his few friends will be looking for his artifacts..

Dave leaves wondering what will happen with his charge of collecting taxes. He and Moe rest and relax for the remainder of the day. They plan on headding out early the next morning..

The next morning they awaken to the sound of someone banging upon the door of their uncles home. Answering the door they find a messenger boy who was sent to fetch Dave. Getting dressed and skipping breakfast dave goes to House Tekana, where he is informed that he is under arrest by Sir Feipek (THe 8th level knight it mentions in the book.)

Dave argues and trys to leave. He says to the knight that he will be awaiting on the outskirts of town (A duel perhaps?) if he wishes to discuss the matter further.

Instead of dueling it out Dave gets Moe, the corpse and they flee the town.. But they do notice the Knight with armed escort following them from a safe distance to the town line. Moe begins teasing Dave about the dead elf being his girlfriend.

A qick couple of days travel and they arrive at the alchemists. Linidd tells them that he can try but he will need something in order to do it. He tells them of a crystal that was rumored to be in a ruin to the south. If they were able to fetch this item for him he would attempt to bring her back from the dead.

They agree and set about the task the part of the forrest they must travel to is somewhat of a swamp due to it's location and the flooding caused by all of the melting snow from the winter.

However unbeknownst to them at a monistary in Ophids Grassland a Raman by the name of Akh Chi Anhur (Played by a person who is new to Palladium books! Rob!) is just headding out after recieving word that a beneficiary of the monistary (Wolfen named Quarg) is in need of assistance in the very same place that both Moe and Dave are headding.

Quarg is a Wolfen Scolar whom got a bit famous in Shadowfall when he, allong with others whom he was traveling with, produced evidence that the Dwarves were once in the hinterlands attempting to summon up vile demons. (See page 41 of the Hinterlands under Dwarves & Demons)

He spent time in the Monistary that Akh is from doing research. In fact a chair by a window that overlooks a small lake was the favorite of Quarg. It's rumored that whomever sits in the chair long enough will become enlightened. (It's not true but Quarg would sit and study for hours at a time in the libarary and one day he just got up and left. Several weeks later he and a few others returned with evidence of the dwarves of yore activieities.)

Akh travels for a day and notices some smoke. Most likely a camp fire. He begins going closer and notices a savage. Failing his prowling skills he steps on a branch an it snaps underneath his weight. The savage looks and sees him then quickly turns and runs in the direction of the smoke.

Akh stands a moment wondering if he scared the guy or if he is going back to get some of his buddies.. Deciding to play it safe Akh hides and waits to see what will happen.. A few minutes later three savages allong with a Croval arrive on the scene.

The Demonic croval seems to be the leader and is barking out orders to the savages.. The savages are aproaching the area that Akh is hiding in, so believing it better to suprise them Akh casts Blinding Flash. It works and all of the enemies are blinded with the exception of one of the humans. Akh leaps out going right for the Demon who now blinded is reduced to clumbsy attemps at defending himself.

After a couple of melees the Croval vanishes leaving the humans who are no match for Akh's power. Angry over the fact that the Croval escaped Akh continues on his way into the swamp to find his firend.

Eventually Dave and Moe come to the ruin of the tower.

The tower is located in the middle of a small pond. It's only about 120 feet away. However some strange large salamander like creatures seem to be hanging about in the water. No not Alpine Monitors (Although thats what Moe and Dave first thought they were) These demons came from the LTOD book 1 Random Monster generator.

All magical weapons and spells do double damage. In addition they are also -4 to save vs any magical spell.

Dave dismounts his horse, Moe ties his to a nearby tree. The salamander creatures seem to have taken notice of the two and some are swimming in the water coming a bit closer.. Moe not wishing to risk his neck uses Telekenisis to carry himself across to the landing in the front of the tower. As he lands he ties off a rope which he assumes Dave is going to use to shimmy across. Dave instead decideds it will be better to bring his horse across.

Well no big surprise the horse gets attacked while crossing. Dave fights with on of the creatured with his dagger (Swimming with a claymore would have been foolish) Fortunately Dave kept his posessions seperate from his horse so he goes back for his weapons and armor. Moe in the meanwhile has some trouble with one that thought he might be a good meal but a good fling with Telekenesis sends the creature flying over the water..

This time he shimmys over and is able to make it while the creatures feast on the corpse of Daves mount.. Moe heals Dave of his wounds before they enter thought the doors which are barely on the hinges. Inside they see what looks like the remains of another group.. The remains don't look that old..

Quickly searching the first level they then decide to move up the staris as neither of them liked the idea of going down lower due to the stink of feces coming from down below. Moe brings forth a Psi Sword and Psi shield.

Moe is saddened by the damage done to the books in the libarary and comments that it's a crime to let such value go to waste. Dave looks at Moe like he is an idiot. Moe continues to search the libarary hoping to find something that survived while Dave goes for the other door in the room. To his surprise it's locked. So he gives it a couple of good kicks. The door gives and Dave is surprised to see a man with a sword on the other side.

He tells them his name is Finaldo and he is the only survivor of a group that came into this tower.

"We got jumped the minute we came in. Durring the confusion we got seperated. I ran up these steps and in here.. Dem demons ain't all that smart.. Can't figure out how to open doors.."

Dave offers to help as long and even to split any of the treasure they find with the guy if he helps out. He agrees and even shows them the throne room. There they find the golden goblet. Dave asks why Finaldo didn't notice it before to which he replies "I did notice it.. But it wasn't gonna do me a heck of a lot of good against those things.."

Moe suggests they rest as he needs to recover his ISP. Finaldo offers to go with Dave and inspect the upstairs. So the two go off leaving Moe to meditate.

While on the third floor they hear the sound of a horse screaming. Finaldo whos standing by a window looks across to Dave and points out at Moes horse whom was still tethered to a tree and asks "Is that your horse?"

Dave goes over and looks out the window. Making a perception check he notices Finaldo moving behind him as if he is getting ready to push Dave out. Turning and drawing his weapon Dave stops Finaldo before he can even attempt to shove him out.

Dave asks "What the HELL do you think your doin?" To which Finaldo suddenly turns into a Salamander Demon.

Dave screams out "CHANGELING!!!" And they begin to fight.

Moe hearing his brother yelling out stops meditating and runs up the steps.. Together they finish off Finaldo. Then return to the throne room to rest, heal, and prepare for seraching the lower levels. A few hours later the descend to the lower level.

At the bottom of the steps they encounter another demon who doesn't seem to pay any attention to them. In fact it lets them pass into the room full of dung. They close the door behind them and begin decide to go with the closest door on the left.

Dave goes in first. Seeing a skeletal corpse on the ground as he opens the door doesn't give him the impression that the room could be traped. Instead they walk in and the heavy iron gates drop down on either side. Moe with Telekenisis and Dave with his PS are able to lift one of the gates and continue on through to the other side.

This next room appears to be a midevil version of a lab as what looks like chemestry sets are set up. Looking at the various viles of liquids they decide not to drink them as they could be dangerous. Going into another room they find a comfortable bedroom. Someones private chambers apparently.

Moe finds a book with silver runes on the pages but is unable to read the langage it's in. (Dwarven) Crossing through the room full of dung they begin searching a storage room. they find a secret door. It easily is pushed open and they go in to find a dead end and empty room. Thinking that there must be another secret door they begin lookin.

They find where they think the door should be but are unable to open it. Dave even attempts to ram into the door.. Funny thing about Dwarven stonework is that it's really solid. :P

Not being able to figure out how to open the door they decide to research the other rooms. Behind a bookshelf they find another secret door. Again it leads into a dead end room. Once again they figure out where another door should be.

They spend a good twenty minutes attempting to open the two secret doors and failing. Dave eventually gets frustrated and mad goes off to vent by smashing some furnature. After his tantrum he calms down and begins attempting to open the door again.

Moe finally gets an idea and goes about shutting all of the doors on this level. The last one he shuts is the secret door to the room that he and Dave are in. When the first secret door shuts the seccond one opens and they are able to pass through.

Going through a door they find themselves standing on a platform with three staircases going down in different directions. They opt to go strait and come to a room with a treasure chest in it. Also on the ground is a funny black powder.

Dave: "I lower my torch to inspect the black powder more closely."
Me: "Really? Wow I didn't think you guys would fall for this one."
Moe: "Oh no!"
Me: Well Dave your torch seems to have had the effect of igniting the black powder. There is a sudden flash in the room quickly followed by a loud bang." *Grabs 2d4 and gets a 6* "You each take 600 points of damage from the explosion of the chest."

A moment of silence..

ME "Just kidding. I wouldn't do that to ya. Ok Dave so your lookin at this strange black powder but you have no idea of what it is."

Moe opens the chest and that had the effect of casuing a few jars of water to drop from the celing and break upon the ground. This made the black poweder turn into black jellies. Four of them to be exact in each corner of the room.

Not having any weapons for fighting the jellies they take off down the closest set of steps and they run into an area that looks like a jail cell. Inside one of the cells is a Wolfen. Dave tries to free the wolfen but the wolfen doesn't seem to want out. While they are talking a couple of Salamander Demons show up and begin to fight.

They fight and in the end Moe is hurt. Daves armor is messed up 1/2 SDC. Deciding that they need to rest for a bit they free the wolfen promising to help him escape this place if he helps them get back to the secret doors. The wolfen whos name is Quarg agrees and they are on their way.

They make it back though the room with the jellies (Only 2 were in the room) and they move back into the storage room to rest and heal.

Quarg explains that he and his pals arrived a couple of days ago and were ambushed by the monsters. As far as he knows he is the only one alive. Rembering Finaldo Dave becomes suspicious. Quarg does however perform som basic first aid on the two and listens to Moe explain why they are here. Quarg points out that this tower used to be used by dwarves for magical expiriments durring the Elf Dwarf war. Moe shows Quarg the book he couldn't read and Quarg reads the journal explaining that this is what he came in search of.

Moe says he can keep it if he helps him and Dave. Quarg agrees but explains that he isn't much of a fighter. Moe seems amazed by this.. "Your seven feet tall and easily a hundred pounds bigger then me. You should be able to crush these things."

Meanwhile outside Akh is just arriving. He notices the Salamander creaturers but they seem to ignore him. (They are full and don't kill unless hungry) Akh swims over to the tower and when he goes on to the stone jetty he sees a kid coming out of the tower.

The kid asks Akh to stop the "bad men" from killing his family. He also says he is affraid that they will hurt his mommy. Akh asks where they are and the kid points inside and says "down the stairs"

Akh says he will do what he can. The kid says thanks and Akh begins sneaking in. When he gets to the room with the dung Akh goes into the room that had the secret door with the book shelf infront of it. (Room 18 on the Map) He figures out how to open the secret door and the sound of the stone moving alerts Dave and the others to his presence.

Dave grabing his sword goes running into the room. He and the others were resting in room 15. Expecting a Salamander Demon Dave goes running in and is surprised to see a large feline. Akh hearing the jangeling of Daves armor was at the ready with a trident in his hand.

A quick intro is made and when asked why he is here Akh replies "I'm lookin for someone." To which Dave responds "Well we ain't got no cat people but we got a dog person."

The arrival of Akh seems to put Daves concerns to rest as Quarg and Akh seem to know oneanother. Akh agrees to help out. They decide to finish resting and healing up before going any further.

Akh takes out a pad lock and a set of picks and begins to practice. After several failed rolls Akh is finally able to open the lock. Dave looks at him and says "Wanna know how I pick a lock?" He then takes it and smashes it with a mace. "There it's open."

Akh at that point brings up the probem that the child spoke of outside. To which Dave replies "They are DEMONS. I DON'T CARE IF THEY DIE."

A quick demon & monster lore roll allong with Quargs account of what happened to him and his friends convinces Akh to help Moe and Dave.

Wow, nice story/game account :-D

I am tempted to at least attempt to provide an outline of my own game :-D

I plan on adding more and more as time goes on.. With luck it will end up to be a nice little wealth of knowledge and resources for all GMs and players to use.


I've followed the link except the first couple threads seen to be story accounts. Am I correct in assuming the game resources are "buried" further in the forum?
