OK Uncle Remus you hold on to the bow for now, and try to get me a better price for it. If you can get at least 100,000 gold, I'll give you a commission, say.... 10%? or the equivalent in trade/favors.

The old man nods with a smile, the bow vanishing to who-knows-where with the gesture. "Fair enough my friend. Return in 1 week and I shall have give you all the information I can gather about it. In the meantime, is there anything else I can get for you or any of your companions?"

A blond haired, blue eyed, muscular; but thin, human male, about 5'4", with a short trimmed hair cut, wearing black short riding britches that end down just below the knees, and crimson red sleeveless lace up shirt, comes in to the shop, sweat poring off his head. You would estimate him as being about 13-14 years of age. He will browses the sheaves as he waits his turn and soaks in the coolness of the shop. When it is his turn to talk he will say, "Greetings Noble Alchemist. I am Shawn, and have came to deliver these meteorite pieces.", lays down a bag with on the counter, "And to drop off a request for deodorant stones at the apothecaries shop just down the block. I may see if the lord will dismiss me early, and go swimming with the some of the elder squires. Oh, and while I'm thinking of it, the knights love their clothing that you did for them. And once the taxes come in, our Lord has assured us that we will get them next...Just to give you a heads up."

The old man nods with a light smile as the bag on the counter vanishes from sight shortly after being set down. He makes a few mental notes on the request and gestures slightly as the boy continues to speak, another leather bag appearing on the counter along with a tiny vial of crystal clear liquid. As the boy finishes he nods again and smiles "All right then... the request for the deoderant stones can be considered filled. How many exactly are being ordered anyway? Oh, and the vial there is for you, young man. A little something to cool you off in the heat out there." With a warm smile he turns and starts rummaging across the shelves, muttering something about where he last left those blasted smelling stones.

"Um, no clue, as to how many he's ordering. Considering there are 149 squires and who knows how many pages and apprentices there are there. Given the fact that he is dealing with teenagers, that grow in both height and weight, be expecting a rather large order. In my 2 and a half months there I have grown both in 2 inched in muscles and a half an inch in height." the lad says. Looks, at the liquid, "Am I to drink it or wear it?" Looks at the shelves, "And it that the one you're looking for? There, to your left...The one marked "Stink no more'? Down...Down. Yeah...Is that's it? Oh wow, nice drawing of a skunk! I have never seen such artistanship as this. It looks like it could jump off that box."

The merc returns to the shop. This time he's wearing brand new studded leather armor, carrying a magic short sword and has a beautiful young Elf woman on his arm.
"Good afternoon Uncle Remus" the merc says with a smile. How are you on this fine day?
I've come about the magic bow. Any luck selling it?

The old man nods as he takes the indicated box down with a smile. "That's the one alright. Good eyes there son." He produces another bag and starts filling it from the box with oddly shaped clear crystals. "You drink the elixer there... it's a special little concoction that lowers the temperature in your immediate area by several degrees. The more you drink the cooler it gets, hence the relatively small dose. Too much and you'd freeze up as solid as... well as solid as a block of ice. That amount there should be enough to give you a good 10 to 15 degree cooling. Should last you about 4 hours." He drops the last of the crystals in the bag and slides it across the counter to you with a smile. "That should do it. Anything else I can get for you, my boy?"

The old man smiles as you enter, offering you a nod and a sly wink to your companion, grinning as she giggles coyly. "Greetings and salutations. Welcome back. I'm doing quite well thank you. I have not been able to sell that bow yet, no, however the additional research i have done hasn't really revealed too much else to me. The only thing beyond its ability to transfer its wielder's strength to the shots fired from it is the fact that the weapon is also completely indestructible. Most likely made that way to be able to handle the possibility of being handled by someone of really outrageous strength, like a god or a dragon. I am, however, willing to offer you a solid 100,000 gold pieces for the bow myself. It may not have sold yet, but I'm certain someone out there will take it. Or, as always, you can add it to your own inventory." With a slight gesture the gold and ebony bow appears before him gently hovering in the air as a bag containing the offered gold appears in his hand. "Either way, the choice is yours."

Well since I won't be in the area for a few weeks I'll take the gold. My friend ( the merc looks at the beautiful woman as she looks over some fine silks across the room) is Lady Loria Greyhouse, granddaughter of Count Eric Greyhouse ruler of Farhaven Province.

The Count is an old adventuring buddy of mind from way back when we were younger, around a 200 years ago. Count Greyhouse asked me to escort his granddaughter home. Since I had to come here anyway, I though this would be a good place to buy a gift for the Count.

Eric has rather "Exotic" taste, when it comes to wine, spices and art; do you have anything in the store he might like?

The old man nods with a smile as he hands you the pouch of gold, the bow vanishing in a brilliant flare of light to reappear elsewhere in the shop. "A pleasure doing business with you, my good man. So you're looking for a gift for an old friend, eh?" He furrows a brow as he turns and starts perusing his shelves. "Exotic tastes in wine... spices... and art... Let me see now, what have I got floating around here.... Fairie foods are always a good thing... got a fresh supply of some Western spices here.... or perhaps this fine Elven vintage that pre-dates the Great War... or maybe...."

Peepers: A rather extraordinary thing, despite its relatively ordinary appearance, Peepers are works of art of various types enchanted to give their owner a remote view of the area they are placed in. The owner simply smears a drop of his own blood onto the work while speaking a particular word or phrase which will activate the item. From that point on, when the owner repeats the command word he will receive a mental image of whatever the item sees within its field of view. The default view is one of normal vision range with a maximum distance of up to 150 feet and a Nightvision range of only 30 feet. At an additional cost, additional sight ranges may be added including Telescopic Sight (normal sight range increased to 2 miles), Enhanced Nightvision (Nightvision range increased to 150 feet), X-Ray Vision (150 feet range) and Mystic Sight (Essentially a remote See Aura with a 150 feet range). Unless X-Ray Vision is purchased, all sight ranges may be blocked by physical barriers such as walls, doors or even a blanket thrown over the artwork. Duration of the remote viewing is 10 minutes or until the command word is spoken again, and they may be activated up to 4 times per 24 hour period. All of these items radiate magical energy whether active or not. Their only real drawback is the size limitations. None of these items are readilly portable. Statue Peepers must stand a minimum of 3 feet tall and most weigh no less than 100 lbs, give or take about 10 lbs. Paintings must measure at least 3 feet by 4 feet and can probably be considered the most portable as they can be rolled up and carried around (a frame is not required), but they are still rather conspicuous when hung out. Cost: Base enchantment cost with 150 feet Normal vision and 30 feet Nightvision: 50,000 gold, Telescopic Sight and Enhanced Nightvision add 10,000 gold, X-Ray Vision and Mystic Vision add 25,000 gold. Special Note: Cost can also vary from 10-50% less or more based on the quality of the artwork.

Hecklers: An amusing little item, Hecklers are small statues of various creatures, usually humanoid and often humorous, parodic or grotesque in appearance. (Think lawn gnomes or fat little imps) While they are being observed, they are perfect statues of stone or metal arranged in a variety of poses. When they are not being looked at, however, they start to move, making rude or obscene gestures toward whoever is around. As they are moving around, the "victims" must save vs magic at a -3. Failure will result in getting that creepy feeling that they're being watched. The obvious reaction to this is to look around, and when they do they will invariably have their eyes drawn back to the statue, just as the horrid little thing suddenly stops moving a millisecond before they are actually looked at. ( Note: A fun way to use these things is have them in a different pose when they are looked at again. For example the Lawn Gnome they looked at earlier was standing holding his belly as though enjoying a jolly laugh. When the players look again, it's now kneeling with a hand shading its eyes as though searching in the distance. Sublty is the key to these things. Initial descriptions should be worded as an afterthought... "You see a statue of an imp standing in the corner"... Then get a little varied as the players get more cautious... "Looking back, the only thing you see is that statue of the kneeling imp in the corner". The overall effect of these things is one of distraction and paranoia. Victims will suffer a -1 to initiative after the first failed save against magic, and an additional -1 to initiative for every 2 additional failed saves against them. ( For example a victim fails his first saving throw against a Heckler and suffers a -1 to initiative. He then fails his next saving throw, succeeds with his next roll and fails his next 2. The victim now suffers a -2 to initiative. Another failed save against a Heckler will see the penalty increase to -3) Penalties incurred by a Heckler last for a maximum of 10 minutes per -1. Every 10 minutes that pass sees the penalty reduced by 1 (Our poor example fellow before is suffering a -2 on initiative from Hecklers. 10 minutes later, after encountering no more of the little buggers, his penalty is now -1. He's still a little distracted, but as long as he doesn't encounter any more of them, or at least makes his saving throws against them if he does, in 10 more minutes he'll be fine.) Hecklers are also tough little items with 150 SDC each and a natural AR of 16. At an additional cost, they can also be enchanted as Whisperers (see below) Cost: 150,000 gold

Whisperers: Similar to Hecklers described above, and available as an additional enchantment on them, Whisperers are various innocuous items such as works of art, tapestries, furniture, rugs and so on, that are enchanted to whisper when someone gets close to them. Activation range is 15 feet and when someone passes close enough, they will suddenly hear what sounds like a soft voice whispering something barely audible. Although nothing in particular is actually said, the sound alone can cause jumpiness and paranoia, giving rise to thoughts of ghosts, spirits and other entities or possibly a secret room or passage on the other side of the wall (behind the whispering tapestry, of course). Victims within hearing range of a Whisperer will suffer a -1 on initiative rolls for as long as they are within range of the item and will remain in effect for 10 minutes after they leave its area of influence. Cost: 50,000 gold as an item or as an additional enchantment on a Heckler.

"Just a few little things here he might like, especially if he has a particular eye toward personal security, as I know most royalty does. If nothing else he can set a Heckler or two up in his main hall and laugh at the way they make fun of any unwelcome guests he may be entertaining. Makes for great fun! Trust me, I've done it. And your charge there seems to have a particularly good eye for my silks. She may have any one outfit of her choice from among them as a gift." He gives her a wry grin and a wink as she giggles again, settling his gaze back to you with a smile. "Will there be anything else I can get for you?"

The old man smiles brightly as you enter, chuckling softly at the reference to your past "troubles", reaching into his sleeve and producing a very long-stemmed pipe as a table comes sauntering over with a set of shot glasses arranged in a neat circle, a few chairs parading behind it before heading to each person in the room and nudging gently at their legs like an affectionate dog seeking attention, urging everyone to sit. He settles back on the old rocking chair that appears behind him (or was it already there in the first place? ) as a roaring fire springs to life in the nearby hearth, adding a cheery glow to the atmosphere. "Grey, my friend! It has indeed been some time since your last visit. So glad you could come again. Your company is always most welcome. This is the Lady Loria Greyhouse, Granddaughter of Count Eric Greyhouse of Farhaven Province. Her companion's name I do not know, but he is a good customer of mine. His first visit here involved a need for some personal grooming products and his return visit has garnered me a new acquisition in my shop here, a bow of gold and ebony that transfers the strength of its wielder into whatever shot is made with it. Lord and Lady, this is Grey, a wonderful companion and customer with a penchant for living and adventure that reminds me of myself in my far gone youth, when I had the world by the short hairs and there wasn't a damned thing anyone could do to loosen my grip. Thanks to him and others like him, I can say I live a very vicarious life through their experiences. Please, sit and join us for a drink. I'm sure he's got a whopper of a story to tell this night. And Grey, pack that pipe a little tight this time around, that stuff smells pretty good. And regale us with the adventures you've had, particularly how my red-capped R.U.M.P. kept you lying low for so long. What got you into so much trouble this time?" with a hearty grin he passes his pipe across the table and settles back into his chair.

Ladies and gentlemen I just need to take a minute here. Currently it is nearly 3 AM and I'm sitting here at this computer going through everything I usually do on these boards, when it suddenly occurs to me. There's a lot of people that have come through here and paid a visit to my "shop". I looked at the board and saw a total of 179 posts. And I got curious. I went through all 46 pages of the Palladium Fantasy RPG board and found just over a dozen other threads with over 100 posts. Out of them, only 1 had more.... Monstrous Creations, at nearly 400. And that got me thinking... what have I created here? In the end I'll just smile and shake my head, knowing that it really doesn't matter what i've created, I should just take heart in the fact that what I'm doing here a lot of people are enjoying, and that makes me happy. So here on post #180 of the Uncle Remus' Emporium of the Arcane thread, I'd just like to say "Thank You!" To all of you that have made this thread and "shop" what it is today and will become in the future! As I've said many times before, It is gamers like all of you that make what I do worth it. My thanks, my respect, my love, to all of you and yours.

Good Luck and Great Gaming!!

The Merc: " Hum.. Eric does like the the fine wines, you say it's from before the Great War? I'll take 4 bottles if you have them. Also four Hecklers, say funny Imp like. Do you have any Pink Whoop-Ass left? If you do I'll buy 4, no 8 cans, it'll make a great laugh at the party.

Lady Loria: "Max can you believe it? The silks here are the best I've ever seen. This green and gold number seems to almost fly it's so fine."

Max the merc: "Loria you've made quite an impression on Uncle Remus. He has generously offered to give you a outfit of choice, as a gift."

Lady Loria: (excitedly) "Really, Oh thank you Uncle Remus, you are too kind (Loria gives Uncle Remus a big hug & a kiss on the cheek, causing the old man to blush scarlet). (Loria rushes back to the rack of silks to pick up the green and gold dress along with matching shoes.)

Max the merc: "So Uncle Remus what's that come to (?), I can pay with Old Kingdom Dragon Coins (gems intact), or these PPE emeralds (each one holds 25 PPE, & can be recharged in the usual ways, I have 11 of them), or I can pay however you like.

Max the merc to Grey after glancing at Loria who nodes in agreement: “We would like to hear a fine tail of your travels, but no thank you to the herb and drink.”(Max sits and Loria settles comfortably in his lap)

"a drink for either of you, just in case you change your minds...help yourself to a pipefull as well. uncle remus, are these chairs and table enchanted, or do you control them with your arcane powers? if they are a simple enchantment, i would love to buy a set off you. they are more caring and affectionate than some of my traveling companions and best friends and i feel like it would brighten up my day having them around."

*with that, grey chuckles and settles in to tell his tale*

"i will recall the details of my misadventures in detail, only assuming that it will never go past this room, since i am still technically wanted over it...they just dont know who 'i' am...it started with a day of fighting all takers for the entertainment of the crowds in the tenements. by the time there were no more takers, i was in pretty rough shape. i left after giving my winnings back to the crowds to go to ullans bar and drink away my pain with the good doctor. after sufficiently drinking (according to the doctor i could barely walk) he dared me to start on the r.u.m.p, which is never a good idea in that state. we went outside and i drank the first. it instantly sobered me up, set my broken ribs, re-located my dislocated knuckles, un-sprained my wrist and made me feel like new again. a little disappointed (as was the good doctor who was expecting cataclysmic results), so i drank another. this one, one of the infamous red capped bottles. the next thing i knew, i was roughly 18 feet tall (the good doctors estimate), naked, and every single time i exhaled, fire came out. i realized this wasnt going to end well and tried to hastily make my way out of town through the tenements. unfortunately i crushed and burned a swath right through them. no one was hurt, but much damage was done. i tried to hide in the woods just outside of town until it wore off, but hunting parties soon came calling, and the effects of the r.u.m.p lasted for almost a week. as you can well imagine, its quite hard for an 18 foot tall walking furnace to hide near such a populated area as the capital city. many cold, sleepless and hungry nights later i crept back home, naked, and tried to listen for news of the incident. apparently, they are still out looking for me, and my good friend the captain of the guard has put a large bounty on my head, not realizing it was actually me. once it all blows over i plan to help pay for and rebuild all the things i wrecked, but since then i have pretty much been hiding out at home in case someone recognizes my face as being similar to that of the fire breathing giant. truth be told, it was one of the funniest things that has ever happened to me, and likely one of my best stories to date. i can only hope that my next encounter with a red capped r.u.m.p has similar results, but i am going to save them for times when i am out of the city from now on...preferably in enemy territory..."

*with that, grey sits back to enjoy a taste of his pipe and a few drinks of his brightly glowing liquor and asks uncle remus about whats been happening around the shop since his hasty departure. at one point it almost seems as if his eyes and intentions are focused directly on the lovely lady loria, but you can almost see him simply give up, change his mind, or come to his senses and go back to regular conversation, realizing that she is much too far out of his league. after some time, and drinks, he begins to pet the chair affectionately as one would pet their dog*

Yes the page is still alive. Just having a rough time getting around to coming on over the past few days. I've just moved into a new house and just recently gotten settled in so posts will become a bit more frequent as I find time freeing up. I'm glad you like it here. Uncle Remus has apparantly enriched many a gamers' world and I hope he's done the same for you as well. Stay tuned for more in the shop, kids! This old man ain't dying off yet!

Although he is going to bed right now because it's 2 in the morning for me and I'm falling asleep at my keyboard :D

My dear friends and loyal customers, I convey my sincerest apologies for not posting anything here in the store for so long. Life has had a serious impact on my state of mind and put me in a really bad rut lately. I can assure you that I have not forgotten any of you and have been trying really hard to come up with some new and interesting things to stock the shelves with, but my muse seems to have left me high and dry. I am, however, starting to concentrate on bringing Uncle Remus' Emporium of the Arcane to life in the pages of the Rifter. I find myself thinking if I put everything here into a hard copy it may get the creative juices flowing again and more new and wonderful things will soon follow. Fear not, however, for even if Uncle Remus manages to grace the pages of a Rifter, or possibly even his own supplement, he will still be an active force on these forums and, hopefully, your own worlds as well. My heartiest thanks to all of you who have made dear old Uncle Remus as successful as he is and for your praise words of encouragement for his work. None of it would have been possible without you.

In the meantime, stay tuned and keep coming in to visit the old man from time to time. The shop is always open and every customer, new and old, is considered a dear friend.

Alright, it's about time I get something on the shelves here and I think I got something here. Remember my idea for symbiotic magic items? Well I've gotten them a bit more refined and streamlined by making them a bit more structured, but still leaving enough room for personal customization between like items.
Anyway, here's a look at what I've got. They are still very experimental and in need of testing, but I'm putting them on the shelves pretty much for just that purpose.
Special Note; these items grow and change with the power/experience level of the person they are bonded to. The per level advancement bonuses refer to the item's advancement as the character gains a level. Basically, they are treated pretty much like newly acquired skills. You pick up a brand new symbiotic item at 5th level. It essentially starts at first level experience. When you hit level 6, the item advances to level 2 power and so on.
The Defender (symbiotic magic item)
Favored by men of arms, particularly front-line fighters such as Knights, Palladins, Soldiers and Mercenaries, the Defender starts in the appearance of a heavy leather glove or gauntlet, usually worn on the off hand of its wearer, and grows with power and experience to become an ornate combat vamrace and partial breastplate, usually styled in such a way as to reflect the tastes of its wearer, whether it be growing spikes and blade edges, intricate filigree and etchings or just remaining simple looking steel plate. The capabilities of the Defender are pretty self explanatory, being mostly defensive in nature and granting a few combat bonuses to that end as well. The bonuses and powers are as follows;
SDC Bonus: Wearer is granted a +20 SDC bonus at first level power with an additional +5 at levels 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15.
Combat Defense: The wearer enjoys a +1 bonus to parry at first level power with an additional +1 at levels 3, 9 and 15. This bonus to parry only applies to the weapon or shield used by the hand that wears the item.
Mystic Defense: The item grants a constant +1 to save against all Magic at level 1 and an additional +1 to a saving throw of the wearer's choice at levels 4, 8, and 12. These additional save bonuses may be applied to a single saving throw type, for example a save vs Wards or Non-Lethal Poison, not just Magic or Poison in general.
AR Bonus: The armor of the wearer is given an additional point of AR at levels 4, 8 and 12 up to a maximum AR of 19. If the wearer of the item is not wearing armor with the item he is granted a Natural AR of 10 and the previously described bonuses will still apply, becoming a Natural AR of 11 at level 4, 12 at level 8 and 13 at level 12.
Mystic Shield: The item can be used to create a shield on the wearer's forearm for use in combat. At first level it is nothing more than a simple buckler providing a +1 bonus to parry (in addition to WP and HtH bonuses as well as the bonuses provided by the item itself) At 5th level power, the shield can be larger, able to become the equivalent of a standard heater or round shield from medieval times, though the shape of the shield will vary according to the desires of the wearer. In this form the shield is +2 to parry in addition to all other bonuses as noted. Finally at level 10 the shield grows even larger, becoming the equivalent of a Roman tower or Norse kite shield, providing full body cover to the wearer and an additional +3 to parry. Again, the actual shape/appearance of the shield is left to the desire of the wearer.
Special: At levels 4, 8 and 12 the item manifests a mystic power from the following list. Player's may choose or randomly determine with a roll of 1d6;
1: Armor of Ithan: 6th level proficiency 3 times per day
2: Superhuman Strength: 6th level proficiency, 2 times per day, SELF ONLY
3: Fire Fist: 6th level proficiency, 3 times per day
4: TK Force Field: 6th level proficiency, 3 times per day
5: Mind Block Auto Defense: Note; if this power manifests, the appearance of the item will also include a partial helmet as well as the vambrace and breastplate.
6: Wearer gains an additional 20 SDC and automatically Bio-Regenerates 2d6 HP/SDC per melee

All powers, abilities, bonuses etc vanish if the item is ever removed, whether the wearer takes it off or the item gets lost or stolen. In the hands of anyone other than its bonded owner the item is a normal thick leather glove, even if it has evolved to the point of being a full plate combat vambrace. However, if kept seperated from its bonded wielder for at least 1 year, the item will reset to first level power and be ready to bond with a new owner. Starting again at level 1 with no powers abilities etc, except for those available at its first power level. If the item is reclaimed by its bonded owner within that time, all powers/abilities return at their normal level of strength.

Been a long time coming and more will follow. If anyone has any other ideas for one of these things, let me know; as always, custom orders are welcomed.
*The old man blows the dust off the shelves and turns the sign in the window to "Open" with a mischevious smile*

Sorry I been away so long, everyone. Working in the lab for a while and having a rough time of it. But I'm back and still bringing you the wonders of weirdness. Come on in and have a look around.

A young human wizard (you're guessing mid 20s) enters the shop...He is blond haired, blue eyed, 5'/10", you're guessing 150 lbs, clad in what looks like black snake skin cloak with what looks like a blue linen lining, a blue shirt with a black cobra embroider on the sleeves, going down into a gauntlet made of the same skin as the cloak, boots, head band, and belt. Blue britches with the same embroidery on the legs, and the belt looks like it is too just a tad thick (at least that you can see of it without an x-ray spell or something). Carrying a whip and rapier on the belt and black cobra staff with the markings of an asp and its silver mouth is opened; but no teeth in his hand. But for some reason you can't stop looking at his head band (Black snake skin with head; with a flawless blue gem which holds PPE in it's mouth) until he speaks, "Greetings Alchemist", doing the hand signals of a member of the tri-arcanum. "I am called Arn. I was sent to invite you to a party at the Guild. And I have a rather large request. You see, I have a problem, on the last mission for the king I my mystic focus got dropped into the lava of a volcano when I was saving a friend. True, it wasn't the most powerful of foci, it could only reduce the cost of a spell by 15%, however it could be used 4 times in a 24 hour period and was for the most part indestructible. Uh, long story short, can you possibly make me another one from my snake staff here? And maybe put two spells crystals for fangs? I was thinking more globe of daylight and lantern light than anything defensive or offensive."

Uh, long story short, can you possibly make me another one from my snake staff here? And maybe put two spells crystals for fangs? I was thinking more globe of daylight and lantern light than anything defensive or offensive."

The old man nods with a smile, returning the proper membership counter-signs flawlessly and gesturing for you to have a seat as he heads behind the counter, a chair galloping up behind you at the gesture. "A pleasure to meet you Arn. You may call me Uncle Remus. Everyone else does, at least after they call me something else when they meet me. I appreciate the invitation to the Guild party, but I'm going to have to respectfully decline. The extent of my socialization for the past few... let's say the past few years, hasn't extended beyond the walls of my sanctum here for many reasons, Guild politics primary among them. No offense to your Guild or any of its members, of course. I just tend to be very selective of the company I keep on a social level."
He brings a small wooden box up from behind the counter before extending his hand almost absently, your staff suddenly vanishing from your grasp to reappear in his, a discerning eye peering at the snake head as his free hand rummages through the box. "Mystic focus lost, eh? Hate when things like that happen. Damned difficult to replace more often than not. But, you certainly came to the right place to do it." He chuckles gently as he retrieves a gleaming sapphire from the box, virtually glowing with untapped energy, and tests the fit of it in the mouth of the snake head, nodding slightly before setting it to the side and returning his hand to the box. "And you say you're just wanting basic utility spells in the fang crystals, huh? Fair enough. Not that it's difficult or anything. Actually rather refreshing, truth be told. More often than not people want big explosive powers and heavy offensive magic, so it's good to see someone with an appreciation for the little things." He tests the fit of a pair of tiny quartz-like crystals in their proper places and smiles, retrieving the sapphire and settling it between the fangs, a small flash of light punctuating a perfect fit all around. "There you go, my boy! All set. Your fang crystals are charged with a Globe of Daylight and Create Bread and Milk. Emergency rations are always appreciated. The focus has been upgraded to a 25% cost reduction, but it's limited to a 5 minute duration 3 times a day. I hope that's alright. If you need something else I got a few others in here I can try, but no guarantees on how well they'll fit."

"Uh, you meant lantern light instead on create bread and milk, I assume? And actually yes, I would like something else. Information, on where I might obtain a bookwyrm dragon for a familiar. My old one got sorta got devoured by a gigantic serpent last year and I have just today picked up my cloak, belt, boots, and other accessories I had made from it's skin and had my gem fixed into the head band. Also I know I probably won't find it here, but am always on the look out for a particular scroll of an air spell. Phantom footman. I keep hoping a priest will make it a point of writing it down. But first how much do I owe you for the work you did on my staff?"

The old man chuckles lightly as he makes a quick adjustment to the stones on your staff. "No, actually I meant Create Bread and Milk, but Lantern Light is just as easilly obtained." With a quick twist and another flash of light he holds the finished work up with a smile. "There, all set. Globe of Daylight and Lantern Light and the foci all replaced as requested." With a mischevious grin the staff vanishes and reappears in your hand. "My condolences on the loss of your last bookwyrm. Tragic thing there. As for where another may be... I can't really say. Dragons tend to be rather tight-lipped about hiding places. I can have a few friends look into scaring up a couple places for you to try though, just give them a couple days and I'll let you know what they find. As for a Phantom Footman scroll..." he turns to the shelves behind the counter as they rotate around to a library of scrolls. "... let's seeeee... Mist of Death, Northern Lights, North Wind... Aha! Phantom Footman! Got a few of those right here. Any idea of what kind of power level you're wanting that in? I have anywhere between 4th and 10th. Only real difference between any of them is the duration. Stronger the power, longer it serves. And the crystals I can let go for say....." he mutters to himself a moment, brows knitting."Ah, what the heck. Your guild has been pretty decent around here lately. Let's say 20,000 for the three. And be more careful with your staff. Don't want to have to replace those again, okay?" He grins good-naturedly and props his elbows on the counter with a chuckle. "So, about this scroll you're wanting..."

"Thank you." Gets a coin purse out off his cloak, with a mark in gold thread. "I hope you take gold bars by the pound." And takes out 8. "And I am wanting it to try to learn the spell. So I would need a 7th level one if you have them. I am hoping I can this time...With Thoth's help. I am going outside of the city to the old abandoned keep in the forest to the northeast of here and to the west of the lighthouse to camp. It's said to be haunted, but it's not. There was a group of thieves and highway men that were there before we came there to camp one night. We returned the loot they took form the people of Greenbough and Wisdom and killed the thieves of the Highback Plains. But we want to keep it a secret about the keep for as long as possible, so...Shhh. I have only told 1 other person about it outside of our group. The outside is quite a mess. I am going there because the last 3 time I tried to learn it I got struck by lightning, soaked by water, and paralyzed for 4 hours. But I am not giving up! A guild friend told me to go somewhere where I won't be disturbed, do a huge circle of protection, get a good nights sleep, burn some of the resin of the dragon blood tree, meditate, pray to Thoth, empty my mind, and then do try it. I went south of the white rock mountains into the mound hills for the resin, I have a sanctum established at the keep and a protection circle as well."

Uncle Remus nods with with a smile that shows he is clearly impressed with the accomplishment, turning a bit more understanding about the desire to learn the spell, though suppressing a good natured chuckle about either the results so far or the preparations you've gone through to teach yourself from the scroll. Reaching up high, he retrieves a rolled parchment, closed with a light grey wax seal bearing a signet of a Great Horned Dragon bearing a great sword. "Well, good sir, I wish you the best of luck at your attempts. In fact, as an extra bonus for your determination, I'm giving you a 2 for 1 deal. This scroll has 2 Phantom Footman spells on it. Who knows, maybe the fourth or fifth time will be the charm right? Anyway, like I said, it's a 2 for 1, so it'll only cost you 2000. Best of luck to you on pulling it off, my boy!"

"Or die trying!" he says with a chuckle. "Uh, one moment please." putting away the coin pouch and retrieving another one this one with an silver Timiro sovereign embroidered. "Oops, wrong bag, holds on to it in with the other hand, says, "Ah, here we go." and get out the one with a silver mark embroidered on it, gets out 4 silver pound merchant bars. "There you are my good man." putting the 2 pouches away he says, "I have to say, I do not much care for the new Eastern crown coins. They are not very good and really the only way to tell them apart is by size, and they easy to copy. I am rather of old kingdom coins, because they are actually excepted most anywhere and a 500, 1,000, and 5,000-7,000 coins. However, that is neither here nor there. I do wish they could be reproduced. Oh well. Little chance in that, without finding where they were made. And it's getting harder and harder to find a literate orc or ogre who might have came across something and didn't use it to wipe with!!!" and clenches his fists. "Anyway, thank you again for your help and everything, and I will be back in about 3 days; give or take for the information."

The old man arches a brow consideringly, apparently torn between several responses before sighing gently with a good natured smile and nods. "Yes, my good man, I believe I have a few things to select from that could help you out here..."

All-Purpose Remedy; (superior): A stronger version of the standard All-Purpose Remedy, curing some of the more serious ailments and diseases, among them migraine headaches, cold and flu, serious stomach disorders, STD's and many others. Basically, anything short of cancer and various other terminal ailments can be cured by this potion. However, it is still no help against magical diseases or faerie foods, but it does have a 40% chance of removing curses. Tastes even worse than the regular version and has a 60% chance of causing the character to gag and retch for 1d4 melee rounds, reducing all combat bonuses by half and attacks to only one per melee. Cost: 500 gold and fairly uncommon

"That should help with your current... affliction. The disease itself will clear up in a matter of minutes, but the swelling, the growths and such will probably take a couple days, so hands off until they're cleared up... yours or anyone else's." he gives a good natured smile and places the bottle in a discreet little brown bag. "Will there be anything else for you, my promiscuous friend?"

At least, he would be handsome and well dressed, if he didn’t look like he just wrestled a pack of orcs in a ley line storm. He is holding a small box about five by three inches, lit on one side, up to his ear.

He drops a long hollow tube, about half his height, scorched on one end, beside the door.

“Yeah, turns out he was a godling or something.... Yeah... Uh-huh... He wanted the factory-outpost in the magic zone, and my soul... Uh-Huh...With the rocket launcher... Twice... yes in the office, where else was I going to shoot him?... About as poorly as you would expect”

Balancing the box between his shoulder and ear, he pulls a shiny black item, with an obvious grip for a humanoid hand, and a short hollow tube pointing away from the grip, from inside his coat, which is missing all its buttons and torn to bits. He presses a small release, and a slender, tall, black tube slides out of the grip. He checks a small light that blinks red twice, then goes dark. He casually tosses both parts opposite directions.

“Uh-huh... Reschedule all my appointments this afternoon... Wait who is there?... He isn't dead yet??.... Alright, send him to my office, maybe both problems will sort themselves out..”

He pulls another item, much like the black one, only with a silvery metallic appearance, from a holster in his waistband. Presses another release like the first, revealing a long metal tube, with just three visible brass-looking cylindrical items stacked inside. He slides the tube back in, and replaces the whole item to his belt. Then checks a small black box attached to his belt, which falls to pieces when he moves it around.

“Right.... Uh huh....On Center?.....Ill check it out later....I need to pick up something there anyway”

Pulling a small, cigar case looking item out of his inner coat, he notices a blue ink like stain on his inside shirt. “Bah I just got this dry cleaned.... What? … No not you, go on” Opening the top reveals three empty vials, and one shattered. He tosses the whole thing onto the nearest shelf, then removes his coat and tosses it over the nearest standing item. After he pulls off a few strips of cloth, they appear to be the remains of a light concealed armor.

“Yeah.... Uh-huh.... Modern Earth?.... Zombies?.... Send two recovery teams, investigation, search and rescue.... Standard protocol....Oh, send out a memo to all department heads reminding them of outbreak procedure....Yes...Tuesday...”

He pulls a small gold chain hanging around his neck, revealing what was an amulet, out of charges, he pulls it up over his head, and drops it to the side. Fishing through his pockets, he finds a few spent casings, a grenade pin, and an exhausted scroll, scattering them all on the floor as he slowly walks toward the counter.

“Yeah....What?.... Captured by slavers again?.....That kid is going to be the death of me..... No no, Ill get to Atlantis and rescue him myself..... Yeah.....As soon as I find a portal....”

He stumbles a bit, noticing that his right heel and toes are exposed through what little is left of his shoe. He bends over, unties both shoes, and tossing them to the side. He then rips a strip off his pants leg, and ties it around a wound on his left bicep.

“Listen, after I get the kid, Im going to go check out those ruins.....No the other ruins......No the other other ruins....Yes those....I want to see if the intel about the artifacts location is correct.....Well it better be, I paid a not-so-small fortune to get it......

Pulling up his left pants leg, reveals a concealed dagger, when he pulls it from its sheath, only the hilt and an inch of shattered blade are revealed. A few fading enchantments spark and fizzle a bit, before going out completely. Tossing it on a shelf, he stands back up.

I don’t care what they said..... No.... Increase the offer..... Well find a new supplier......Yes....Today! What?... Hello?..Hello? HELLO!?.... YEAH CAN YOU HEAR ME?...IM LOSING SIGNAL...ILL CALL YOU BACK WHEN I FIGURE OUT WHERE AND WHEN I AM....ALRIGHT!”

He looks at the little ear box for a moment, before tapping on the lit face, it goes dark. He slides it into a pocket, it immediately falls through the seam and hits the floor. Picking it up, he slides it into another pocket, before walking the rest of the way to the counter and places both hands firmly on it.

“I have one question so important, the fate of the entire-verse depends on the answer.”

He leans onto the counter a little, and with a grim look finishes.

“Do you have a suit?”

The old man's brow arches as the stranger enters, a mild look of disdain crossing his features as he tosses item after item of clutter all over the place, though each one seems to get disposed of; The burnt tube left by the door claimed by a little gargoylite, the shiny black item with a grip caught and spirited away by a rather large rat wearing a little blue jacket while the tube from it that had the red flashing light is nabbed by a faerie in mid-air, streaking off with it in a flash of butterfly wings and glitter.
The pieces of black box that fell apart are carefully swept up by a broom into its companion dustpan and they both go strolling away to parts unknown while the cigar case hovers above the shelf it is tossed to, the empty vials coming out and vanishing with tiny little pops and flashes of light before the case itself spins around rapidlly and vanishes without a trace. The jacket settles onto a suit of armor before a clawed hand reaches from the shadows to take it gingerly from its place and pull it away into the darkness, a sibilant chuckle sounding from the shadows as it vanishes.
The amulet dropped to the side is caught by a strange little demonic looking faerie and taken through a curtained doorway behind the counter, the grenade pin and spent shell casings clattering across the floor a moment before getting wrapped up in the spent scroll and disappearing in a puff of smoke. The shoes, worn and torn as they are, are caught by a rather scruffy looking goblin in a threadbare tunic and raggedy shorts. He smiles broadly and sniffs at them deeply before proceeding to greedily gnaw at them as he wanders off down another aisle.
The strange looking demonic faerie returns again as the broken dagger is dropped, scooping it up and examining it carefully before taking it back behind the same curtained doorway the amulet was taken through.
The old man then meets your gaze with a good natured smile, his eyes barely concealing a hint of amusement at the mention of the fate of the entire-verse depending on his answer. His features fall to a grim expression as he glances conspiritorilly around the shop a moment, beckoning the man closer as he leans in a bit himself and replies, his voice a low whisper.
"... Yes... "

Greetings and salutations, everyone! This is a special post today... Post #200!! Who would have thought this shop would have been so popular? Certainly not me. Honestly, I thought this thread would die out and never return way before now. I'll admit it's come close a few times, but somehow, someone out there always seems to come in and breathe a little life into the place. To all of you, my heartfelt thanks.

Now on this special occassion I've got a couple new things to put on the shelves, and I've got a special offer for all my customers. See what you think!

The Shadow: Another symbiotic magic item, this one starts in appearance as a plain black cloth cape, evolving further as it grows into a full length cloak with hood and cowl trimmed and adorned in whatever way suits the tastes and desires of the wearer. It is heavilly favored by Thieves, Assassins and Spies as well as anyone who wants to enhance their abilities at stealth and subterfuge. Bonuses and abilities granted by the item are as follows;
Skill Bonuses: +10% to Prowl, Climb/Scale Walls and Rope Works. Note: Bonuses only apply if the corresponding skill is known by the wearer. Otherwise, the wearer enjoys a "natural skill" at 60% proficiency.
SDC Bonus: Wearer is granted a +10 bonus to SDC with an additiinal +5 SDC at levels 5, 10 and 15.
Armor Bonus: As long as the wearer of the item wears Light Armor (ie Cloth thru Studded Leather) it grants a bonus of +2 to its AR. No effect on heavy armor.
Stealth Power: At second level power the wearer gains Stealth abilities equal to a Chameleon Spell (PFRPG pg 190) for a 5 minute duration plus an additional 2 minutes at levels 4, 6, 9, and 12. This ability may be called upon up to 3 times per 24 hour period.
Shadow Meld: At fourth level power, the wearer gains a Shadow Meld ability equal to the spell (PFRPG pg 195) with a duration of 2 minutes plus one additional minute at levels 7, 10 and 13. This ability may be activated 3 times per 24 hour period.
Shadow Hands: At fifth level power the Shadow hands ability manifests. This is a strange ability that causes tendrils of darkness/shadow to extend from the item under the wearer's control. These tendrils are similar to the Physical Psi-power Ectoplasm with the following differences/limitations; 1> The tendrils are in a solid state ONLY. They do not have a vapor form like true Ectoplasm. 2> The tendrils are capable of lifting/carrying/holding up to 100 lbs of weight rather than Ectoplasm's 40lb limit. 3>The equivalent PS of each tendril is 10 rather than Ectoplasm's PS of 4. In combat, an unarmed strike from one of these tendrils does 1d6 damage. The Spd of 18 is unchanged. 4> A maximum of 4 tendrils may be created plus 1 additional at levels 6, 9, 12 and 15. All other aspects of the tendrils are equal to that of solid Ectoplasm, including Ecto-Combat statistics.

The Enlightener: A simple silver headband that evolves into an ornate jewelled headpiece, tiara or even a mask-like item, the Enlightener is a truly rare piece in that it enhances a Psionic Mind. Worn by Psionic characters only, any non-Psychic attempting to bond with it will suffer 2d6 damage and have a 25% chance of permanently losing 2 points from both IQ and ME. Psionic characters bonding with it will see their powers enhanced in the following ways;
ISP Boost: The wearer gains an additional 1d4x10 ISP with an additional 10 ISP at levels 3, 7, 11 and 15.
Power Boost: Starting at third level power, the wearer gets to select an additional new Psionic power from the categories of Healing, Sensitive or Physical. An additional new power may also be selected at levels 6, 9, 12, and 15. At levels 10 and 15 the wearer may also select a Super Psionic power.
Strength Boost: The wearer gains a sort of Spell Strength bonus that applies to their Psi-Powers, starting with a +1 at level 4 and increasing by an additional +1 at levels 8 and 12.

That's all for now folks.! And now the special offrer... You dear old Uncle Remus is having his biggest sale ever! Starting today, and going on for the next week, 30% off all items in stock!! All purchases over 100,000 gold will also get an additional 10% off! Come in now for the best deals in alchemical history! Now, at Uncle Remus' Emporium of the Arcane!!

Thanks for coming by! Come back again soon!

A figure enters the shop, all you can see is a black snake skin cloak with hood pulled over the head and pulled closed in front, you can not see a figure inside, and the cloak seams to be about roughly 7' tall, and is floating a good foot and a half off the ground. The cloaked figure will waits patiently on the Alchemist to finish with the gentleman in front of him.

Apologies to pb and T1 for not responding to you guys for a while. My machine has decided to break down and is currently in for repairs. The one I'm on now is seriously on time constraints so I will have to post what I can at a later date. Again, my most profound apologies, guys. You are not forgotten. Circumstances are just a bit beyond my control at the moment.

“Perfect! Cant do business without a suit! Something very durable, yet handsome, without being gaudy, preferably in a style that says, I'm not here to fight you, but lined with a soft inner trim that suggests, bring it, today is not your day. Oh, needs to have pockets, I tend to have plenty of accessories”

He looks around the shop, as if noticing it for the first time.

“... And...Uhm, speaking of accessories, what have you got in the department of bringing it, I'm in the middle of a hostile takeover, and there will definitely be some aggressive negotiations this evening. Let me think, need something small, concealable or mundane in appearance. Some surprise bargaining chips, catching them off guard, but packs a punch.”

Tapping a finger on his chin, deep in thought.

“Could also use something substantial, something that shows I mean business, my last explosive offer didn’t quite have the desired result, needs to really leave an impression on things both evil and magical.”

Taps his foot on the floor, without a shoe it makes a soft thud rather then a defined tap.

“There will also likely be some need to open a few doors that are less then cooperative. Followed by a rapid advance by two people away from the persons who will at that time formerly claim ownership of what was on the other side. Very hasty advance, might need something to delay pursuit and-or hasten the advance in the opposite direction.”

Tucking in whats left of his potion stained shirt, he continues.

“Finally, could use something to get through a few feet of stone, going to have to go both in and back out. Might need a map to keep track of where I am, small maze of tunnels after the stone wall. Earth dungeons, you know how they are”

He pulls a pen out of his pocket, clicks it a couple times to no effect, leaves it on the counter, and picks up the nearest writing implement to scribble something on the back of a small card he produced from another pocket.

“These scrolls and potions as well, if you have them in stock, as potent as you offer.”

He slides the card over, returning the writing utensil.

“So, suit first, then bargaining leverage, rescue tools, adventure tools, all while not dieing, have anything to fill my needs? Also for payment, what is the standard here, cash? Credit? Mine is valid for fourteen races. Precious metals? Hearty handshake and a promise to make it up to you later? I already left you my business card so you can contact me.” He says while smiling the perfect business smile, excepting for the bit of blood staining his lower lip.

The old man nods consideringly as several suits lazily float past in a myriad of styles, materials and colors. finally reaching out he plucks one from the air. "This little number should do well. An understated number of simple elegance in charcoal grey wool with a barely discernible darker grey pinstriping. The shirt is comfortable white cotton with a selection of ties ranging from basic black all the way to up and coming super exec power ties. It fits well all around with a little extra flair around the shoulder area that enhances the air of authority one has by saying 'I'm the one signing the checks. We do it my way'. Lightly armored as well in case of those pesky up and comers hoping for promotion-by-assassination opportunities, boasting an impressive AR of 12 and 75 SDC without adding any extra bulk. SDC can be increased to a maximum of 150, but you're going to be looking like you may have spent a bit too much time behind the desk. A total of 9 pockets grace this bad boy, 4 in the trousers with 2 front pockets and 2 back, the other 5 on the jacket with 2 larger lower pockets, 1 upper breast pocket and 2 inside breast pockets. All pockets come standard with a Dimensional Pockets enchantment to store all those basic needs."
An array of small boxes and baubels begins marching past on the counter. "As for accessories, you'll find a vast array of rings, bracelets, necklaces and more, all with a myriad selection of offensive and defensive capabilities. For something small, concealable and or mundane looking, I'd suggest an Assassin's Ring. (posted earlier) Not too much of a punch as is, but further enchantments can certainly add quite a boost to it. I've also developed an interesting little variant that packs quite a wollop. I haven't come up with a name for it yet, but it's a sturdy little gold ring, kinda plain looking, but it carries a Thunder Hammer enchantment, making standard punches do 2d6 damage. Yes, I know I could name it a Thunder Ring, but that just sounds too cliche'."
"For something more substantial, I can suggest several items that really depend on your tastes and how much you want the item to blend in. For the more covert side, I have a simple little cane here that turns into a rather deadly little longsword. No, I'm not talking a sword-cane you can pick up at most knife shops where you pull the blade out of the cane, I'm talking about a cane that literally transforms into a sword. For added costs I can make it even more powerful as a Flaming Sword, Eternally Sharp, or pretty much any other weapon enchantment you can think of, including custom orders."
"For the problematic doors and the walls of stone I have a singular solution for both... a Hole... (posted earler) Never do a B&E without it. And for a quick escape through a wall or an expedient trap, it can't be beat. Though rather cost restrictive, I'd suggest getting more than one, just in case. I also have Mystic Maps available in 3 different size ranges (also posted ealier) that should cover pretty much any of your mapping needs."
As he peruses the list you hand him, a selection of bottles and scrolls start to dance across the counter, lining up in quick rank and file as though awaiting inspection. "As for payment, standard here is pretty simple... 'In the gods we trust, all others pay cash'." He chuckles lightly at the joke and shakes his head. "Seriously, cash, coins, precious metals or stones, exchange of services... even your immortal soul if you're willing and/or able to part with it. just about anything of value can be used here. Is there anything else i can get for you?"

A familiar voice laughs and says, "No thank you, feet I have...but I would like something to get rid of the blue skin tone I got from the scroll, the first time around. It took me 5 times, but I've finally learned the spell. Also, I would like the information about the whereabouts of a that bookwyrm dragon, if you have heard anything about one."

The old man winces slightly, but smiles with a light chuckle. "Well congratulations on your success. I'm sure all the hard work and setbacks were worth it. As for changing your skin back to normal, beyond make-up paints, I'm afraid there isn't much I can do for you. What you're dealing with there is a sort of divine level side effect handed down, not from the gods, but from the forces and energies of magic itself. Believe me, if I had anything that could get rid of it, you'd have it, for there were many times when I wore the blue skin myself. Consider it a badge of honor stating that you tangled with the forces of magic and are still lucky enough to be breathing."

He claps you on the shoulder with a wide grin of pride and hands you an oddly shaped glass filled with something that smells of fruit and alcohol topped with a little paper umbrella. "Here, have a Mai Tai. Now as for a bookwyrm, I had some friends scour the usual dragon haunts for info on where one could be. And let me tell you, those little buggers are pretty tough to track down. But, I did manage to find out that one is vacationing at the Dragon's Gate. Something about a ritual referred to on another world as Spring Break."

He shrugs non-commitally with a grin. "Dragons... go figure... Anyway, I hope that helps. If you're going after the bookwyrm, be careful, dragons are notoriously touchy about their vacations being interrupted, you know. Anything else I can get for you, my good man?"

Arn will float down, lifts the shadow meld and his hood, and says, "Bugger!!! I am to attend a meeting of the guild to vote in the newest members and to give evidence against a member. Then on an outing with someone I've been trying to shag for the last 5 months." Places his hand on his on his forehead for a moment revealing a snake skin bracer and a set of red clothing. "No thank you, I have consumed enough at the party to last a while. Uh, are there not any closer? Like the marshes to the south? A ship or even a flight to the jungles of Yin Sloth I fear would take over a week. I know, I know...they like jungles, lush forests, etc."

The old man arches a brow, confused for a brief moment before realization dawns and he resists the urge to laugh uproariously, though a barely stifled chuckle does escape. "Actually a trip to the jungles wouldn't take you more than 45 seconds if you were to leave at this very moment, though I have to admit it would probably take about a day to get to the Dragon's Gate mountain from here. After that, getting up there and getting to the bookwyrm could take as long as you'd like to spend on the hunt."

The old man smiles with a mischevious twinkle in his eye. "Truth be told, there are no circles involved at all, though your point as to why is relatively valid. It's all just a matter of time and relative dimensions in space. But anyway, yeah, sure I can give you a day to prepare. Not too certain the bookwyrm will hang around, but hey, it's on vacation, right? It could be there, what, days... weeks even? Who knows? Just come on back when you're ready to go and we'll get you on your way." He grins wide and tosses you a little silver charm shaped like a beetle, "Just bring it back when you're done with it."

Tosses it back, and says; "Please hold on to it for me. I will be back."

Hello Uncle Remus, the name is Reagren Wright. Normally I'm creating monsters but I'm in
need of some magic shields. Normally my "alchemist" does a pretty good job of selling us all
kinds of goodies, but he not sure about shields. MY alchemist is not sure whether to use
magic weapon qualities or magic armor properties? So I've decided to turn my shopping
toward a professional. Looking for 5 Uncle Remus magic shields. My players have pockets full
of gold and their ready to buy whatever you have.

The old man smiles with a hint of pride twinkling in his bespectacled eyes, a brief nod bringing a selection of shields out from the shelves to hover around him. "Well, sir, thank you for your appreciation of my work. Shields, by design, are considered weapons so most go with weapon enchantments. I usually take a different track, though and go with weapon item and armor enchantments as well as a few powers that are considered relatively unique. A few examples already on the shelves would be the Shield Ring, the Shield Bracer and the highly reccommended Medusa Shield. Of course I've also got...."

The Sentinel: A large shield, usually around the size of a Norman Kite Shield or a Roman Tower Shield. Enchanted to be Lightweight to allow it to be used more effectively, granting it an additional +2 to Parry in combat despite its size, and Indestructible so it can take a beating. Cost: 35,000 gold

The Demon Shield: Similar in appearance to the Medusa Shield, the Demon Shield is an average sized shield with the image of a hideous demon's face on the front. When activated the face animates, snarling and leering at the wielder's opponent with the eyes glowing red and smoke blowing from the mouth and nostrils. The overall effect is one of a Horror factor of 12 while activated. As a bonus, the shield also Spits Fireballs or a Cloud of Smoke from the demon's mouth 3 times per 24 hour period. The demon face of the shield may be activated 3 times per 24 hours and will remain active for 10 melee rounds. Cost: 75,000 gold

Gorgon Shield: Looks nearly identical to the Medusa Shield, except the Gorgon's head on the face of the shield is constantly animated rather than needing to be activated. That's right folks, this is the legendary shield that can turn its wielder's opponents to stone! Every melee round someone faces a person armed with this shield they must save vs Spell Magic (12 or higher) or be turned to stone. This fate can be avoided by avoiding looking at the shield, but it will incur a -5 penalty to the opponent's Strike, Parry and Dodge rolls. Victims turned to stone may be restored using a Stone to Flesh spell. The only drawback to the shield is that it is constantly active. Anyone looking at it, friend or foe, is suseptible to its enchantment, even the wielder. The shield can be covered to temporarily nullify its effects, but removing the covering will cost its wielder 2 attacks. Cost: 100,000 gold

Mirror Shield: A standard shield of any shape or size with a face polished to a mirror finish and enchanted to reflect away any directed energy attacks such as Fireballs, Lightning, etc. All forms of energy attacks may be parried with this shield, including Call Lightning (as Call Lightning does not require a roll to Strike, it may be parried with a roll of 16 or better on a d20. Parry bonuses may be applied) Energy attacks parried by the shield can also be reflected back to their source. This requires a roll to Strike by the shield's wielder of 12 or better and damage from the redirected blast is reduced by half. Cost: 25,000 gold

The Grabber: A new twist on shields, this one performs as any regular shield until its enchantment is activated. While active, the shield acts as if a Carpet of Adhesion were cast on its face, causing weapons it parries to stick firmly to its surface. This has an overall effect of disarming the wielder's opponents as their weapons are suddenly taken from their grasp by the shield. The weapon may be activated up to 3 times per 24 hour period with a duration of 5 melees per activation. Cost: 15,000 gold

There you go, my good man. See if these do anything for your group. If there's anything else I can get for you, let me know and I'll see what I can whip up for you.

Arn returns to the shop, with 2 friends. This time clad in full snake skin attire. A 5' human female who looks to be from the Land of the South Winds (in short, she's Asian). Long dark hair braided in back, (I will go ahead tell you, if your shop's well lit you can see small glints of metal in her hair). PB of 17 in silk her dress (magical armor) ( http://www.tradeleads.at/images/users/0 ... 717365.jpg ) and a belt which has twin cobra ninja swords on it. And her silk hand bag (Which Arn seams to be frightened of). Age, she's Asian! Who knows at first glance? The other one is a 5'10" human male, with red hair, green eyes, a well shaved face, and oddly enough he is wearing Arn's blue outfit when he first came in the shop...It's slightly tight but all and all a nice comfy fit on him. On his belt is a cutlass with a great many marks on the hand guard, and is whistling a seafarers songs. Rather hansom (PB 15), in his mid 20s.

Arn will say, "Hello there Uncle Remus, greetings to you. I have brought my companions with me. Points this is Xanus and Hawk.

Uncle Remus smiles as the trio enters, nodding to each in turn except the lady whose hand he takes in a gentle grasp and brings his lips within a hair's breadth of the delicate skin for the briefest of moments before straightening and giving her a charming smile and a roguish wink. "Greetings to you both and welcome back Arn. I trust everything is well with you today. So, what brings you and your friends to my humble shop today?"
With a disarming smile, he settles back into his rocking chair that suddenly appears behind him (or was it always there? ;) ) a steaming cup of fragrant tea appearing in his hand.

"Arn's wants to bugger Baba Yaga." Hawk will say in a clearly joking voice, and get slaps in the back of the head for it.
Arn will shake his head and say, "To find my familiar, of course." muttering something about Hawk and an acid enima.
"Whatever blue boy." Hawk says, walking away to looks at weapons.
Xanus says, "Yes, these two are always like this. And yes, they are brothers! It makes life very, ummm, interesting and humorous."
"Hawk, want a basket of blue berries?" Arn asks, looking at the faerie food?
"Sure Bro, you know I love them." Hawk says, distracted by the weapons not paying attention to what where his brother's looking.
"They love each other, really they do!" Xanus says.

The old man nods with a grin as he glances back and forth between the two while they banter, barely suppressing a chuckle as they carry on. "I am certain they do. Of course, the only way it would really show is if there were a catalyst of some sort for both of them to focus their attention on. I see it all the time among siblings."
He takes a sip from his cup, relishing the taste of the hot liquid, and sighs gently as though recalling a long lost pleasantry before snapping his gaze back over to Arn with a smile. "I figured as much about you were going to get your new familiar. I guess what i mean a bit more specifically is, beyond a fast way there, is there anything I can get for you for the trip?"

Xanus says, "Well that or someone outside picks on or hurts one of them."
"These blueberries will be quite sufficient for me. They are rather rare this time of year." Arn will say with a smirks, and teleports a small sack of coins into Remus' lap.
Hawk says, "Sorta. Well, that is I have had an idea of what I want. It would take time to explain, and is a gift of sorts; so." And switches from speaking, to writing on a pad of parchment. "What I want is sorta like a curse, in a way...Glowing eyes, light blue to match his skin tone. I got it from an item that I found. But I don't want people who can see aura to fear him and try to hurt him. Okay? And have it to end after a week or 4. And can you possibly fix it to a 7th level strength air spell scroll called phantom and when he reads it, it will go into effect?" and hand it to Remus.

The old man takes the note and reads it over, a brow arching dubiously as an amused smile creeps across his features. He carefully folds the note and spirits it away with a puff of smoke as a brightly colored box labelled "Novelty" hops out from behind the counter filled with an assortment of bottles, scrolls and an ecclectic array of other knick-knacks. The box hops over to Hawk's feet, bumping insistently against his ankle with an aamusing barrage of pitiful squeaks. "I think you'll find exactly what you're looking for in there, my good man." He looks to Xanus with a charming smile, a free hand weighing the sack in his lap with a critical toss or two and giving a satisfied nod. "And will there be anything for you, milady?"
