what range or what restraints are on this ?

I don't think someone looking thru a security cam could tell, but what about a two-way mirror looking into the next room ? do the parties have to be within physical proximity with no barriers between them ?

That depends on the source of the Chi-sensing ability. The Chi Awareness power gained by anyone who possesses Chi Mastery Powers has a range of 40 feet.

Zanshin provides a Chi Awareness ability that can be used on any beings that the character can see within the radius of the power.

Certain Chi spells and animus effects also provide certain Chi-sensing powers, with specific limitations given in their description.

In all cases, I would gather that the ability is line of sight only and is blocked by any physical barriers, including viewing remotely by camera, though I'm not entirely certain... will do more research...

Because the flow of chi is deflected by solid barriers, or so it seems, hence why I'm not certain yet.

Sort of depends on the barrier. Since, supposedly, glass beads can be used to dampen chi flow. Mirrors can be used to redirect chi, etc.

Granted, I'm still doing Geomancy research. Feng Shui is actually somewhat complicated.
