Ninjas & Superspies - What's changed?

Unread post by dpenwood »

I took a break from Palladium games. A long break. Okay, like 15 years.

I used to play Ninjas & Superspies a lot back in what must have been the late 80s/early 90s. I still have my character sheets, if you can believe it. Printed out on dot-matrix printers.

I've been playing Rifts lately and have noticed that it's changed since the 90s. Not drastically (other than the ever-expanding world), but the rules have tweaked/expanded.

Is the same true for Ninjas & Superspies? I remember loving the selection of martial arts, the spy gadgets etc... I'm wondering how much has changed/improved over the past decade, if at all...

N&S is still using the same N&S revised book, but there is Mystic China now a a source book too.

But most GM's use both N&S and MC as source books for the other game settings instead of running a N&S game.

It hasn't changed at all i'm afraid. While much of the palladium system has undergone revisions, N&SS line hasn't been touched, for better or worse.

The writer, a good friend of the game company owner, passed away.

"The impossibility of the world lies in the fact that it has no equivalent anywhere;it cannot be exchanged for anything. The uncertainty of thought lies in the fact that it cannot be exchanged either for truth or for reality. Is it thought which tips the world over into uncertainty, or the other way around? This in itself is part of the uncertainty." - J. Baudrillard
