any updated gizmotter skills?

Unread post by willthetiger »

I have the 4th edition(may 1993) Ninjas and Superspies book.I was looking through the skills and noticed that the gizmoteer skills were way outdated(due mainly to the tech gap of over 18 years)so was wondering if there was a new edition with updated giz skill programs or if it was in a Rifter that I missed,or if there are fan made updated skill programs?Anyone know?

As far as I know there has been only two editions. N&S and N&S revised.
I myself have the 5th printing of N&Sr.

What kind of updating do you think it needs?

It's 'canon', not 'cannon'. A cannon is a big gun like on pirate ships, canon is what you mean when referring to something as being contained within one of the books such as how many dice to roll for a stat.

The 5th printing (not edition) was in 1994.

The updating I think it needs is a modern flare to the gizmoteer programs.Pretty much updated description that describe todays technology.

I agree, but you don't really need an update, just watch your favorite superspy movies, emulate and add. The Gizomoteer does need some new tech but it wouldn't be hard to do this yourself if you're gming.

In a sense many of the skills are adept for modern times, although as I noted in another thread the Weapons Gizmoteer Program needs adjusted because it's quite possible for someone to manufacture their own firearms from scratch in the real world up to and including machine guns so the Gizmoteer should be able to do even more. The medical programs are in need of fixing though, they include skills that have prerequisites that are absent from the actual skill program and need to be included.
