Re: Healing Shaman variant

I wouldn't restrict Herbology at all; let them make everything. Also, I wouldn't worry too much about availability of herbs. Have the shaman spend a reasonable amount of time searching and they find "the herb they were looking for". It doesn't have to perfectly match what's in the England ...

Re: NEMA rebuilt on Rifts Earth. Possible?

The CS isn't used to fighting on equal ground against another conventional force. Granted it's hard to tell based of off written material because the written material was written by people with little to no experience in real world war or combat. I think I have to address this in my current campaign...

And that's just for Infantry. Rifts doesn't come close to the number of MOSs or OCCs real life has. Let's not reduce it further. Just about all of those can be covered in one OCC, with maybe 3 MOS specialties; the last 6 or 7 can be reduced systematically to in-game promotions with a few extra skil...

Re: The Absurdity of modern warfare

IF hover tanks were more common, THEN tanks could compete with bots better. But they're not more common, presumably due to the limits of in-game technology and economics. One arrow per vial? I imagine someone pouring the vial contents over the arrow head instead of dipping the arrowhead into the vial.

Really think as much poison would stick to the arrowhead as one would be expected to drink (a few ounces)?

What about Belladona potion....I'd like to allow the character to dip arrows in it....how many do you think he could "dose" with one potion, and how much damage would be added to each arrow?

You would think Naruni units and other more advanced stuff would include self-healing capabilities.

I don't think it'd be too much of a stretch to think nano-tech had advanced enough to make self-healing tech by 2098. We're probably 5-10 years away from some level of that now!

One thing missing from most Palladium mechs is force fields.

The Walkers in Star Wars have shields that protected from blasters

The high-maintenance cost and ablative nature of armor in Palladium is awful.

If MDC structures had a reflective quality, this would be a different discussion.
