Taking away paird weapons from the players isn't the answer. A few things to keep in mind about paired weapons. Yes they can parry and simo attack a single foe. Ok, so An NPC Ranger in a group is great for me as a GM. Great guide characters. But...how do you game master for a group with a PC Ranger and make it come off as he knows what he's doing without him just mimicing what you tell him? I would say it all depends on the methods being used. As a rule I would make the one being tortured make saving throws vs pain. Deduct the necessary SDC. Alchemists don't actually forge any weapons. They add magical properties to them. The customer has to supply the weapon they wish to have enchanted.

The way I do it is I have all the players roll Init. And I take the monster in the fight with the highest bonus for Init and roll. Whomever wins goes first. The Ashmadi is listed has having "Supernatual" for Combat style. It can't learn any Hand to Hand combat skills. (I've just been assuming they have some equivelant of Martial Arts like Nightbane) But it would be good to actually get a ruling on this.
