Re: Lucky Psychic Character Creation Question
Hey Crimson! Thank you for that suggestion! I will have to track down a "Conversion Book 1". But if as you say they use a x3 multiplier that makes sense, and works for me. I've had mixed results playing the character so far, I'm going for a "Maxwell Smart" / "Inspector Clous...

Lucky Psychic Character Creation Question
Hey folks, I apologize if this is a dumb question, but I'm trying to create a Lucky Psychic (OCC from Rifter 53) Character for an HU campaign. But I'm completely confused on how much ISP the character should start with. As written, it seems like he would max out at 10 ISP (2D4+2) which seems very un...

Sorry if this is already covered somewhere, but I'm not having any luck finding it in my books or in the forum search. My question is essentially, how do you handle this in game? I didn't find anything in HU and N&SS has suggestions for normal cuffs (50SDC) & Heavy Duty Cuffs (120SDC) But no...

Anyone have a pic (official or otherwise) of the Silver City Skydome? I'm trying to wrap my head around the shape and porportions described in the book. Make them weak. Make them struggle. Make them human. Make them matter. This is Rifts... they don't have to be human. This is, and always has been, a Good Thing. I think Make them "human" is like saying make them relatable. Not literally homosapien. Kinda like how Pixar makes very "hu...

Re: On Game Balance and a Defense of the Palladium System
I agree fully with this post with one caveat. My players all start with the PCC/OCC they want to play and go from there, I'm not going to force a player to be something they don't want to be just because of a lousy dice roll. Ultimately these games are meant to be power fantasies. So a perfect Stat ...

Re: Making Player Characters Matter
Building on what Warshield posted, you can also give the PCs specific *Non Combat* tasks. So at the climax of the adventure, maybe there are MEGA GODS throwing moons at each other. And your PCs have no real hope of fighting anything in that arena. But maybe all they have to do while that's going on ...

My approach to this has been to build up the PC's supporting cast and their world. We often start new players and characters with a one on one session. I'm very interested in finding out who and what the character cares about. From there I find or create antagonists that have opposing goals. Once yo...

It was nice to meet you Drewkitty!
I'm sorry I didn't get to see zyanitevp at all.
We ended up not making it to any Palladium games, but did a pretty fun "World of Darkness" game.
If there's any folks in the LA area that want to meet up and game sometime, we'd certainly be up for it.

I think the first thing you and your players need to do is to agree on what kind of game you're playing. As Glistam said, if the players want to be "murder hobos", let them, but create consequences. This seems like the perfect set up for a fantastic Space Pirate Adventure. So your players ...

I agree with Gilstam. If the Villains are massively intimidating then the Heroes can feel accomplished when/if they win.
But if the Heroes start out overpowered, it throws off the sense of adventure.

I know there are some Rifters that codify some of the Charm and Seduce and Intimidate skills, but they seem a little more unweildly than I would like to deal with.
