Just starting to read the books and preparing to run a game. Has anyone written a primer? Just a brief summary of the setting in a page or two. Useful to wrap my mind and the players minds around the setting before we jump in. I have started reading the main book but free time to prep between games...

Re: How many magic items can you wear?
Good topic! I normally allow 1 item per limb or "slot" to keep it fair. 1 ring per hand, 1 thing on wrist area, 1 necklace item, 1 earring per ear. I'll even allow 1 ring per foot and some wrist items can be worn on the ankle. BUT that is me and my world, I tend to have a very low magic wo...

really depends on whom they are killing. If its a bunch of monsters that are sleeping, sneak up (requires roll) and then roll to see if you hit or botch it up. Basically I am looking for anything over 1 when it comes to any creature that doesnt have armor on or natural AR. Its a called strike so the...

I'd say sure, give the circle on a carpet a small chance of failure as the ingredients have to be an unbroken line, and even a break invisible to the naked eye can reduce his protection to 0. I would also mention this. Get a wagon. Good point.. and also a wagon that will be subjective to getting bl...

I was just curious why I get flack sometimes. It wouldn't surprise me if it is for 2 reasons (assuming a certain sort of player): 1. Physical Training: In 1E there are no skills (that I can think of anyway) that aren't O.C.C. skills (like Acrobatics/Tumbling) that raise physical stats. In 2E, you c...

Re: Folks still play Fantasy 1e?
I know some folk around here prefer 1e for a variety of reasons. One often cited is the different hand to hands, which really helped warrior-types shine, especially since, IIRC, non-warriors didn't get automatic parry. I tend to think in 2e, and have lost familiarity with 1e, but I don't have a pro...

Folks still play Fantasy 1e?
Not meaning to start any wars or anything, just a general question. I play a lot of Palladium games and I recently was talking about going back to Fantasy. I still run the 1E Fantasy game, partly because I felt that by the time they got into Book 7 (Yin-Sloth Jungles), there was a lot of game content that was just there to fill books that I had no intention of ever using in my games. As more and more books piled on, it also seemed that there was less ...
