Re: 1e to 2e conversons
Not really. Master psionics doesn't convert well into 2nd ed as in 2nd you have to be a psionic class to have lots of psionic abilities, and in second ed the powers were changed, so they can often do not work the same, so the dm would have to decide if they worked like first ed or second ed. But thi...

Re: Venturing into the realms of Palladium Fantasy
+1 at what library ogre has said. Depends on which way you are going. I have done a palladium group going to rifts, rather than rifts players going into palladium, or palladium charaters being used in rifts. The power dynamic is pretty different, with mdc being a big but not only thing. I have also ...

I have only had somewhat success when it was a 1 on 1 game tailored for the summoner (just like the diabolist), and they were good so only used circles that weren't bad and it was fun. Not recommended for new players or dm's however, and not recommended for groups

Side note for damage, in 1st ed bastard swords did same damage as long swords but were 2 handed. in 2nd ed bastard swords get +2 damage, and i think palladiums idea is that it is a 2 handed longsword, so +2 damage would be fair for when using a 1h weapon 2h.

Palladiums combat is already clunky, with the number of attacks to the dual wielding stuff. Adding range note taking, while more realistic (i like) is a lot more work for the DM so i wouldn't do it. There is a spell called Wards in Nightbane and is likely what he is thinking, and is very much a lesser version of a diabolists wards as it has 9 possible effects, and if damage is done it does not scale. I do it as my players didn't like the bad guys suddenly appearing behind them and gutting them because they couldn't parry or dodge an unknown attack from behind, so for me its more the players than against them, as the average enemies perception isn't high, and the modifier goes both ways, so if th...

Its just the page 43 of the main book under combat damage. Palladium is similar to rifts but isnt exactly the same, and applying rifts rulings can confuse things occasionally.
