Anyone up for a short adventure in Chaos Earth?
Hi all, I posted this in the seeking gamers thread, but I'm posting it here in case it gets missed by other Chaos Earth players. I'll understand if mods remove it because it technically doesn't belong here. Anyway, I'm looking for a couple of players to join me and my son (maybe both of them- they a...

Want to play some Chaos Earth?
I'm looking for a couple of players to join me and my son (maybe both of them- they are 18 and 20) on a Chaos Earth adventure. Right now it's a semi-one-shot with 2-3 sessions to play out during the early days of the Cataclysm, but if the interest is there this could go on longer.. The best characte...

Re: How should ranged combat in Rifts/Chaos Earth work?
(snip)... The Melee type pairing are only useful when the multiple parts of a fight would not be able to intermingle too much though, IMO. If you risk having a player wanting to save his friend in the other initiative bunch over there, chaos will ensue fast enough. In these case, the old "ever...

How should ranged combat in Rifts/Chaos Earth work?
Okay, this is a pretty basic question, but I seem to be having problems wrapping my head around it. On page 339 of RUE you get the basic breakdown of a melee round, which is fine if everyone is running around with fists and melee weapons looking to beat the stew out of each other. Opponents square o...

Well, it is what it is: a nice reprint of an old book with a couple of goodies inside. One thing you missed was a nice piece of art that's on page 113. In the paperback this page, the one across from the experience points lists, was just a generic Palladium advertisement (yawn). The hardback has a g...

Hi all, I finally got my copy of Rise of Magic a couple of weeks ago and I find that I have a few questions about how it's used. Thanks in advance for fielding my questions! 1. I would agree. The Juicer/Crazy thing doesn't look like an American technology. MDC weapons/armor, mecha, powered armor, AFVs, robots, and so on yes. I think the NAA also dabbled into cybernetics with the military specialists too. But not the human mod thing really. Would I allow Juicers and Crazies...

Cool, glad to see I got it right. Thanks for helping me clear that up! It's going to be games like this that fire people up to play this game. You should write both of these games up as scenarios and after action reports/battle reports!

Point of order: Macross isn't remotely "done". There's another 2/3 of the product line to produce and ship still. What should be next for RRT? Wave two. With the other book lines they're working on, adding more books to it probably isn't a great idea anyway. From reading the other forums,...

I'm thinking it's just a bad example. A UEDF squadron has, usually, 4 mecha and with support cards can go to 8. They could form a skirmish line roughly 16" long and could get close formation AND crossfire. Maybe. The Zents with 8+ mecha per squadron could easily pull this off. So yeah, it's jus...

With Macross basically done and with the shipping of product in progress we're getting to the question: what next for the game? I think a scenario book with more cards would be nice. I can play any character on any level, but I prefer low powered games/campaigns. As in, "SDC is still useful, or even the standard." The interesting thing is that Rifts Earth still is basically a SDC kind of place. Page 357 in RUE says that M-D weapons are still uncommon and that most tow...

Right now I only play with human characters. Yeah they are weak, so you have to work hard to succeed. That means many more XPs. RCCs that can get by without breaking a sweat don't get a lot from me.
