Re: A Rifts boardgame
A way to get it play tested would be to take it to a gaming convention and get volunteers. Thought about it, but I'm also doing Tabletop Simulator for anyone who has it. I am already past the "do this, do that" me explain everything phase and need people do to the blind playtesting phase ...

Going to use Red for the Coalition as they are the aggressors, and Blue for Tolkeen as they are defenders. Guess no one has icons or a decent topo map... shame. Rifts does not believe in "game balance." Many of the characters are very front loaded in terms of abilities and skills so they basically just keep getting better at what they do, instead of learning and gaining entirely new abilities (like in D&D). I like that Palladium stays away fro...

Wellll, since I don't care about making money, I'm thinking about doing a Rifts themed wargame (no minis... the scaling is just awful for modern/future weapons... check 40k and Battletech for that nightmare) so hex and counter style, maybe platoon level (40 dudes or 4 vehicles per) and off board art...

A huge part of the game is what sort of characters you have. A wilderness game is super different than one set in the 'burbs or Chi-Town with a bunch of city rats. Run it just like Shadowrun with bigger guns and more fascism. That should be what determines what skills are good vs bad. Most Rifts gam...

What if...

What would people want to see, what scale, what mechanics, and finally and most importantly... how to get into KS's hands without being sued?

Putting this here to see if it generates any discussion... 5.56mm = 5d6
7.62mm = 6d6

20mm autocannon = 1d4x10 (seeing as how this may do less damage than a .50 cal, I suspect this is supposed to be 1d6x10)
