Re: P.P.E. Energy vs Conventional
Having a GM who hates dealing with the intricacies of controlling many combatants at once, I have never run out of ammo during combat. Thus being able to recharge my PPE-clips myself at any time without need for an external power source or waiting an hour, allows me to (almost) always start combat ...

Yes, I mean Robot Drone as defined in Sourcebook 1 p. 13Library Ogre wrote: Tue Sep 24, 2024 7:20 pm I should note: I am understanding "drone" to mean "independent AI of at least rudimentary intelligence, which may take orders, but is in complete control of its own actions" not "remote control helicopter."

Does a robot drone with a vehicle body need a Pilot Skill Program to pilot itself?
I've been looking into drones lately and the title already says it all... On one hand, it seems reasonable that any advanced manoeuvrers require a pilot skill, just like a human without specific physical skills simply can't do certain things, despite being in full control of their own body. On the ...

Re: Juicer Detox and Cloning technology
Since Reconstruction explicitly works to detox a Juicer, and works off DNA, one could reasonably infer that cloning would do the trick. Though I agree that if the clone body is utilized via brain transplant, all the damage to the brain (including addiction) is kept. Some sort of restoration would be ...

Re: Invisibility Over Time
It's probably cheaper and easier to just get an Amulet of See Invisible than to put an on/off-switch on the invisibility

Re: A few questions about Doppelganger magic
I can't find the 8th level spell, which book is that in? (Also, may belong in the Fantasy RPG Forum moreso than Rifts)
For my reading of the SoL, the description refers to the Doppelganger as a "clone" that is identical to the original in all aspects except those mentioned in the text, thus I'd say ...

Re: Taking out Prosek
They'd need to be standing close to Prosek, then. The spell just shows the target, what they're doing and their immediate area. There's no indication you can move the view around like a camera and survey the area; it's focused on a specific person. I'm thinking the view would be the same as ...

Re: Good flying vehicle for a PC group (4-5 PCs plus 2 NPCs)
The XM-180 Dragonfly (Triax & NGR p124)
It seats 4 Crew + 4 Passengers, making it ideal for the party size. Its low price and top speed make it a perfect candidate, only lacking the sleeping space. However, it does have cargo capacity for bots/power armor, and I don't see why it couldn't be refitted ...

Re: Taking out Prosek
I don't think Second Sight would work, because you're looking at someone you've met before. If you want to teleport a bomb to Prosek's lap, then you'd need to have met him.
What could work is a live video feed of a speech he's giving in a public place. So, an ally of the assassins could be in ...

Re: Paladin Steel Storefront
How do you come up with the prices? They appear a bit... arbitrary and many of them seem unreasonably low.
Taking the Hercules for example, PS lists the price for a liquid fuel version at 4 million. GAW's charges 12 million for a bird of the same basic design, that is equal or inferior in anything ...

Re: Taking out Prosek
We currently have one character setting himself up in the black market with (Hyperion) Juicer-based delivery & assassination (for what is assassination other than delivering the bullet to the target?) services, building up a juicer army and the capital to equip them with TW (at cost from 2 TWs in ...

Re: Good flying vehicle for a PC group (4-5 PCs plus 2 NPCs)
Given how common hovercraft are i do not think helicopters would be very popular. They are quite finicky to fly and require a lot of specialized maintenance.
As someone who has Pilot (Airplane) and Pilot (Hovercraft) but not Pilot (Helicopter), I agree with that.
Think it would be feasible to ...

Re: The 10 spells you can't live without
Blinding Flash - is a spell I could not live without, in the sense that it saved my (character's) life! When a red dragon toddler rolled a nat 1 on the save, the encounter got a lot more survivable. In the NGR they call that "more luck than sense" and I will readily admit that could have gone very ...

A cigarette wouldn't work, because it's not a mechanical device.

Or a "What would you look like as a Dragon" app or whatever.
Really, a cell phone or the Rifts equivalent might work for a lot of this stuff
Technically a phone (or app, etc.) is not a mechanical device either.
My GM ...
