Re: Rider O.C.C.s

World Book: Australia has a class which is probably exactly what she's looking for. It's called the Road Sentinel O.C.C., aka the Mad Max class. It gives sharpshooting bonuses while riding/driving, damage resistance to crashing (which always does S.D.C. damage even in M.D. collisions), an extra atta...

Re: The Absurdity of modern warfare

Behold the absolute superiority of bipedalism. m m How would wheeled, tracked, or flying vehicles ever match such astounding astoundingness? Especially with all the unnecessary tech and bulk going into these advanced, superior creations that the others have absolutely no need for. Nevermind their ab...

Re: The Absurdity of modern warfare

IF hover tanks were more common, THEN tanks could compete with bots better. But they're not more common, presumably due to the limits of in-game technology and economics. I think this is where the big disconnect is in this conversation. Some people are arguing based on the rules for Rifts/Palladium...

Don't let them troll you, CD. You're right on both counts and I don't understand what they're trying to prove other than the trolling.

Warning: Violation of Rule 2. In this case, flamebaiting. This post contributes nothing meaningful to the thread other than to further inflame things.

Re: Drewkitty's Group Mindblock Thread.

I have to agree with the consensus. Group Mind Block definitely strips everyone within range of their ability to use psychic abilities. Psychic abilities are, by definition, mental powers after all. Even Telekinesis or Bio-Regeneration still require you to use your mind to access the supernatural. S...

Re: How old are the oldest ships in the Three Galaxies...

The Millennium Falcon is probably a good example of their last point. It was pretty old even by the time Han Solo got his hands on it, and it had been modified so much as to be unrecognizable to its original design let alone function as a tugboat.

That wasn't quite what I was hoping to find, but I concede that it's probably as close as there is.

Thank you regardless.

Rifter Catalogue by Type of Feature

Does anyone know if there's a catalogue or index listing the Rifter issues based on the type of content they have? For example, a list of Rifters that include new OCCs/RCCs/PCCs, a list that includes new weapons and armor, a list that includes new vehicles, and so on and so forth? I know there's som...

Re: The Strength of Tengu...

They have normal strength. It's very rare for a supernatural being to not have supernatural strength, but it does happen occasionally. That's why almost every supernatural critter has the note "P.S. and P.E. are considered supernatural" or "P.S. is considered supernatural" or &q...

Re: Female barbarian Warrior

I can't speak for the person you replied to, but I believe he or she meant that that sort of information doesn't really belong as a restriction for the OCC. It's a general note for the gamemaster and really only applies when worldbuilding. I mean, what are the odds of a Godling walking around compar...

Re: Priest Blessings

I don't mean to derail this thread, but I was looking over the OCC after reading this post, and wow. I had never actually looked at it before. Am I right in thinking that it allows you (quote unquote) to cast (also quote unquote) spells regardless of normal limitations, since it's just you asking yo...

Re: Literacy Skill in Rifts RPG

Yes, iconography and television transmissions definitely explains how most of a given populace can get by without being literate. It is, however, still a hard pill to swallow. I imagine that even in an apocalypse, most parents would still make the effort to teach their children at least the basics o...

Re: Rifts tech vs my smartphone, Vs Ray Kurzweil "RB Cell Co

It's probably easier to just assume pre-Rifts Earth was an alternative timeline that capped in the 80s. All the relative military high-tech they had came from, say, the Cuban Missile Crisis (or pick any other similar event of choice) going a completely different way, leading the world into an arms ...

Re: Value of Integrated/Chimeric Starships

I have to agree with the above. Ships of that nature really don't make a lot of sense. HOWEVER, given the nature of Phase World and the multiverse in general, there's no reason to let that get in the way of including them. While they might not be feasible or practical by any measure of those words, ...
