Re: RPG Now After the Bomb
What are the major differences between the RPG Now version of After the Bomb and the version available for sale here on the site in hard copy? Are they as different as Palladium Fantasy 1st and 2nd? Or are they very close rules-wise? Thank you. There are two versions available on RPG Now. This one....

I did a "you start with nothing" game once, as a bit of a surprise to the players. Basically they were all assigned to a remote guard post at the end of a big war. Surprise, their side lost, and now they are on their own, with only the clothes on their backs and a few pieces of personal ge...

There's a bit of an unwritten rule about NPC's... ...which I will now write. NPC's are not PC's, so they don't follow the same rules. Or in other words, all NPC's cheat. Brief addendum. I was slightly mistaken, last game we did was actually a Ninja's and Superspies variant. In N&SS SDC recovery is 5 points per hour of solid rest, instead of the 4-6 per day as by the AtB book. If you want a more grind friendly game try that rate of SDC recovery. I'd keep HP recov...

SDC is, well, SDC. Some minor bruising, or a metaphorical "wearing down of defenses" if you prefer. Sort of a "you parried that blow, but it took a lot out of you. A few more like that and he'll really hit you". I never worried about it until you got into HP damage. That's DAMAGE...

A mark as proof of sentience is a good idea. Here's the base book... m It's the latest revision, informally known as After the Bomb 2 around here (I tend to abbreviate it as AtB2). This isn't really an AtB question, but more of a general RPG thing. With the original TMNT rules, we kept ending up with 3-4ft tall characters. So the standard "trench coat and hat" trick didn't work. A child's hooded rain coat seemed to do the job.
