Only FIVE days left to get yourself a 2007 Christmas Surprise Package – a pile of RPG books, with signatures if you’d like, prints, or other goodies. Time is running out to take advantage of this fantastic holiday offer.
It is tradition to extend the Surprise Package offer for a couple of weeks AFTER Christmas. We know some people can’t afford to order them before Christmas, because they are spending their money on gifts for other people (very nice), some wait till it’s too late, and some need to wait till they get money as Christmas gifts before they can place their order.
We shipped out 57 grab bags this week. Was yours one of them?
If not you have only FIVE days left – till Midnight, January 9, 2008. Then the Christmas Surprise Package offer is OVER till next Christmas season.
The original, limited edition Glitter Boy in Flames print, signed by artist, Scott Johnson and Kevin Siembieda, is SOLD OUT. 600 copies were printed and signed. We sold around 450 (the rest went missing thanks to you know who). Well the last Glitter Boy print, #599, sold last week and we thought that was it. Then one of the warehouse guys asked, “What about these printer proofs?”
Printer proofs! We forgot all about the printer proofs. So for the first time ever (actually one from the Palladium archives was offered in one of the December Palladium Collectibles Auctions), you can purchase a printer proof of this dynamic and popular limited edition print. When they are gone, this powerful image of the Glitter Boy standing defiant among the flames of chaos will be gone as a print forever!
Matthew Daye starts off the New Year on Monday, January 7, 2007, with a live podcast with Kevin Siembieda. Kevin will talk about Palladium’s plans for 2008, upcoming products, the big move in April, the 2009 Open House, and Erick Wujcik, as well as answer your questions. Always fun and entertaining and always available for download.
Chris Perrin has just launched our new podcast program, Echoes from the Rifts®. This wonderful show and website is the creation and hard work of Chris Perrin, who has kindly volunteered his service to bring you fun 30 minute interviews, discussions, news and downloads for your listening pleasure. Each program is pre-recorded, clear, crisp and available to be listened to online via computer or via download onto other digital platforms.
Erick Wujcik is the personality in the first two, awesome and entertaining interviews. These two programs were recorded only a few weeks before Erick learned he had cancer. They are fun, entertaining and a rare glimpse into the wonderful personality and mind of this legendary Palladium author and game designer.
In the first interview, Erick talks about his early days with Kevin Siembieda, Palladium Books and the Detroit Gaming Center.
The second interview (available next week), Erick talks about game design, Amber, videogame design and his years in China.
Future shows include interviews with Kevin Siembieda, Jason Richards and other Palladium creators and staff.
The Rifter® is your doorway to unlimited imagination and numerous Palladium role-playing worlds. It offers new heroes, powers, weapons, magic and adventure for your games. It presents new villains, monsters and danger to battle, and new ideas to consider. It helps you unlock your imagination by showing you what other gamers, just like you, have created. That’s right, many of the articles and source material are written by ordinary gamers and fans like you.
January 11 through March 31 is Palladium’s annual subscription drive. This is the window of opportunity in which we offer the best deal to get The Rifter®. Watch for it.
Palladium’s money situation remains tight. Revenues we were counting on from the Rifts® Movie option and other things have been delayed (the former due to the Hollywood writers’ strike), and moving is expensive.
A number of fan friends suggested we ask for volunteers. At first, we were resistant to the idea, but as more and more folks asked to help (some from out of state!), we decided to go for it. Consequently, Palladium will be looking for volunteers willing to lift and heft boxes of books and furniture. This will be a lot of work. We are moving the contents of a 20,000 square foot building into a 12,000 square foot building 30 miles away. That means loading up trucks, unloading, carrying boxes to specific locations and help unpacking.
We think the big push will be in April, but a new opportunity has arisen, and we may make the move in March instead. All is tentative as final plans are yet to be formalized.
Palladium will provide volunteers with water, soda, some food, and a 40% discount on product for their help (assuming its more than an hour or two), but that’s we can do.
If you are crazy enough to volunteer, be prepared for hard, grunt work. If you are thinking of coming in from out of town – think hard on this as Palladium can NOT afford to put you up. That cost is yours and we’d hate to see people spend their own money on a local hotel just to help us move. Besides, you are likely to see a grumpy Kevin Siembieda in action (he hates moving and there is a ton of stuff). We hope to rent a semi-truck, trailer and driver, as well as a couple of fork-lifts, but there will still be plenty of hard labor. PLEASE do not feel obligated in any way to help us move.
Crazy volunteers already include Joe Bergmans, Josh Hilden, Chris Guertin, and a half dozen local fans and friends.
Volunteers contact Palladium via e-mail at rifter@palladiumbooks.com or by telephone (734) 946-1156. Please, only serious offers of help and genuine scheduling. Thanks.
As you can see from the previous news item, Palladium will be busy packing up and moving in April instead of preparing an Open House gaming event. In May we will be spending time getting back up to speed, and then it’s convention season! We just cannot do an Open House this year. We hope you understand.
That means we need to host a whopper of an Open House in 2009. And to show you that we are NOT giving up on the Palladium Open House gaming events (how could we, they are wicked fun), we’ll already start posting data and taking admissions orders for the May 1-3, 2009 Palladium Open House in the next few days!
Think about it, that’s only 16 months away. Meanwhile, it gives people time to make plans and save money to come on over to Palladium for 2-3 days of incredible, non-stop gaming and fun.

Dyval™ is another dimension of Hell, the next book in the Minion War™ series, and is every bit as fantastic as the first, Hades.
Dyval is a hellish dimension very different from Hades, but just as exotic, dangerous and horrible. The Deevil Host, evil monsters and minions, Deevil society, monstrous War Steeds, magic, adventure settings and more. Interest among Palladium fans is high.
Robotech® is the number one asked about RPG product coming from Palladium Books. It is also on track to break the previous record for advance orders previously held by Rifts® Ultimate Edition.
The role-playing game will pick up where the DVD movie begins. The return of the Robotech Expeditionary Force, the separation of the SDF-3 from the rest of the fleet, and everything else that is part of Robotech® The Shadow Chronicles®.
Palladium has not seen so much anticipation for a new role-playing game release since the debut of Rifts® in 1990.
Robotech® The Shadow Chronicles® is a NEW role-playing game. It is not a rehashed, retooled printing of the original RPG from the 1980s. Furthermore, the release of the Robotech® The Shadow Chronicles® DVD Movie earlier this year, the release of the Deluxe DVD, Shadow Chronicles® Art Book, and the announcement of a Robotech® Movie in development at Warner Bros. Pictures has ramped up interest and excitement for Robotech. This new RPG should appeal to role-players of all generations.
The Minion War spills into Phase World®, the city of Center and the Three Galaxies™. The epic scale of the Minion War just got bigger and even the Worlds of Warlock, the Splugorth and Naruni are involved.
War factions from the Hells, Hades and Dyval, have discovered the existence of a great mystic artifact that has been hidden and protected by the Cosmo-Knights of the Three Galaxies. And both sides want it.
The artifact is an ancient Rune Book that contains the names of the 2000 greatest heroes the Megaverse® has ever known. But it is more than a historical document, it is a magic item of unparalleled power.
According to legend, the tome has many great powers. One such power is that reading the name of any one person inscribed, while evoking the proper magic, will give the reader the knowledge and power of that great hero. And many are the powers of the 2000.
The artifact also has its dangers. It is said if the List of Heroes™ is wrested from the Cosmo-Knights and kept locked in the pits of Hell, then the Knights and all heroes of the Three Galaxies will lose hope and flounder. If the book is destroyed, it is said, the Cosmo-Knights will cease to exist within a generation and the forces of Chaos shall reign. Needless to say, the Lords of Hell, the Splugorth and many others who serve Chaos would do anything to get their hands on the List of Heroes.
Rumor also suggests that the artifact may hold clues to the location of the Cosmic Forge, perhaps in some sort of code or the memories of the heroes who can be evoked. And there are many other tales of cosmic power, healing and knowledge all associated with the book and the ghosts of the heroes named on its pages.
As circumstance would have it, the List of Heroes has fallen into the possession of the Player Characters. The question is, can they keep it safe from the forces of two Hells until it can be returned to the safekeeping of the Cosmo-Knights? Or will they misuse it for their own, personal gain? How will this scenario unfold? Who is on that list? Buy a copy, play out the scenario and find out.
