Palladium Books® – Press Release – December 14, 2007

We’ve all been busy wrapping presents, picking, signing, packing, and shipping Christmas Surprise Packages by the truckload (approximately 117 this week), and working on The Rifter® #41 and Dyval, as well as other business. The Rifter #41 goes to the printer on Monday and Dyval should follow soon after (finally!).

There is still time to order your
Christmas Surprise Package and get it by Christmas.

We have been shipping out Christmas Surprise Packages as fast as we get them, and will continue to do so right up to December 20, 2007.

Palladium’s Surprise Package offer is quickly coming to an end. It is only 11 days to Christmas. Worse, we can only process and ship orders so fast to make sure you get them in time for Christmas.

Orders that get to Palladium Books by MONDAY or TUESDAY, December 17 or 18, and are shipped via Priority Mail, Express Mail or UPS Next Day, 2nd Day or 3-Day Select, “should” get to you by Christmas Eve or sooner – but we can NOT promise it.

*******************************************************
Faster Modes of Delivery – to get it there by Christmas
*******************************************************

Orders received by TUESDAY and shipped by any of the following below should get to you by Christmas Eve, but we can NOT guarantee it. We hope you understand.

Priority Mail – 2 or 3 Day delivery.
Orders placed over the weekend, shipped on Monday, December 17, are very likely (85% chance) to get to you by Christmas Eve or sooner. NO GUARANTEE.
Orders placed on Monday, shipped on Tuesday, should (70% chance) arrive by Christmas Eve. NO GUARANTEE.

Express Mail is the USPS equivalent of Next Day Air – should (95%) chance get to you by Friday, December 21, if you place your order by Tuesday or maybe even Wednesday. After that it’s a total risk. NO GUARANTEE.

UPS – Regular Ground – 2-4 Day delivery east of the Mississippi River.

Orders placed over the weekend, shipped on Monday, December 17, are very likely (99% chance) to get to you by Christmas Eve or sooner. NO GUARANTEE.
Orders placed on Monday, shipped on Tuesday should (95% chance) arrive by Christmas Eve. Any time after that is a complete risk. NO GUARANTEE.

Orders shipping UPS Ground to locations west of the Mississippi River are a TOTAL risk and NOT likely to arrive by Christmas Eve. West of the Rocky Mountains – not a chance – unless you use a method of express shipping.

UPS Next Day, 2nd Day, or 3-Day Select should arrive by Christmas if shipped out from the Palladium warehouse Tuesday or Wednesday. It costs more, of course, but is very efficient. NO GUARANTEE.

NO GUARANTEE OF DELIVERY BY CHRISTMAS from this point forward – but the odds are in your favor if you use one of the methods above. The sooner you get those orders in, the better. Of course, if it doesn’t matter if the package arrives by Christmas, order any time.

All delivery dates are for delivery in the USA. NO promises for orders shipped to any other country. As of December 8, it is best to assume your order would arrive AFTER Christmas.

NOTE ABOUT “Media Mail.” For those of you who have ordered via Media Mail and are starting to call Palladium about delivery, we tried to warn you. It can take 7-21 BUSINESS DAYS TO ARRIVE. With Christmas, maybe longer. Sorry, Media Mail is the cheapest, but the most unreliable form of shipping in the universe. Once the package leaves our hands (and all but two orders are on their way), delivery is out of our hands and Media Mail can NOT be tracked. Likewise, one of a kind items (art, gold editions, etc.) can NOT be replaced. NO GUARANTEE.

Christmas Surprise Package offer ENDS December 24, 2007

It has been tradition that Kevin Siembieda extend the Surprise Package offer for a week or two AFTER Christmas. We know that some people can’t afford to order them before Christmas (because they are spending their money on other people), or get money as gifts for Christmas. HOWEVER, you won’t know until the next press release, December 21, 2007. Get those orders in now!

A Little Christmas Silliness

To enjoy some Christmas silliness, check out Murmurs from the Megarverse® topics: The 12 Days of Rifts® Christmas and T’was a Night Before Christmas . . . Rifts® Style. Both are the zany handiwork of a couple of Palladium fans (Matthew Daye for Days and Daniel Howard for Night).

Christmas Meets Halloween

The decorations at Kathy Simmons’ and Kevin Siembieda’s house include a touch of Halloween.

Kathy, renowned for her phenomenal Halloween display, has used similar techniques to add The Grinch, Santa and Mrs. Claus and key characters from the Nightmare Before Christmas to her lights and decorations. You can take a look at them here.

Podcasts Take a Holiday

With Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve both falling on Mondays, we figured there was no point to host podcasts for Gateway to the Megaverse®.

But they will be back January 7, 2008 with guest Kevin Siembieda to start off the year talking about what’s at the printer, progress on Robotech® and what you can expect from the year to come.

Echoes from the Rifts®, Palladium’s second podcast, will begin in January, 2008, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for it.

Hank’s Birthday

Henry Siembieda, creator of Kevin Siembieda (yeah, he’s Kevin’s father), turned 77 years old today, December 14, 2007. Congratulations, Hank! It’s good to see you’re still going strong and working in the Palladium warehouse shipping mail order and causing trouble.

Basket from Bruckheimer

Hey, a Christmas basket arrived compliments of Jerry Bruckheimer. That’s a good thing, right? Too bad a movie script wasn’t enclosed. Yep, 2008 could be a very exciting year for us.
