Palladium Books® Press Release – November 16, 2006

Rifts® Sourcebook One, Expanded – December 2006
D-Bees of North America – January, 2007

Kevin Siembieda is finally writing RPG books again. He is bouncing back and forth between rewrites and new material on Rifts® Sourcebook Oneand D-Bees of North Americasimultaneously. He locked himself in his office yesterday shouting, “Leave me alone. Gotta get new product out!”

We expect an end of December release of the new and expanded (160 page) Rifts® Sourcebook One™ and a January, 2007, release of D-Bees of North America™ (192 pages).

The Rifter® #37 and Rifts® Dimension Book™ 10: Hades – Pits of Hellare also slated for January release.

The severe problems earlier in the year resulting from theft and embezzlement, made it impossible for Palladium to maintain its 2006 schedule. We apologize for any problems, frustration and confusion our frequent rescheduling may have caused. After spending months rebuilding our foundation, Palladium Books is finally ready to resume a consistent publishing schedule.

And boy oh boy, do we have some great RPG sourcebooks in the pipeline.

Rifts® Ultimate Edition

Rifts® Ultimate Edition
2nd Printing – January, 2006

Rifts® Ultimate Edition will be going in for reprint next week. There are no major changes in the 2nd Printing, only minor changes, including removing the two Nokia advertisements and replacing them with two pages of artwork (which was always our intention with the second printing), as well as minor corrections and clean up.

As a big, 376 page hardcover it requires a 10 week turnaround to print and will not be available before the end of January, 2007.

There are less than 500 copies of RUE First Printing currently in stock, so there may be a 2-4 week period when this core book is not in print.

Note Price Increase: The second printing will see a modest price increase of two dollars, going from $33.95 to $35.95 retail.

Prices Going Up – Just a Little

As noted months ago in The Rifter® and, I believe, in a press release and/or an online Murmur, Palladium will be raising its prices slightly. Typically a buck or two, still giving Palladium fans more bang for their buck on RPG products. In fact, Palladium titles are $5-$15 less than comparable products from most other RPG companies.

- The Rifter® will increase to $10.95 retail from $9.95 starting with Number 37 in January, 2007.

- Rifts Ultimate Edition increases to $35.95 retail.

Rifts Sourcebook One, Expanded and other 160 page titles will sell for $18.95 retail.

- Rifts® Coalition War Campaign™, Rifts® Free Quebec™, and other 200+ page titles will increase to $22.95 retail.

- Rifts® Mindwerks™ and other 96 to 112 page sourcebooks will be increasing to $14.95 retail as they come back into print. You’ve already seen that price point with Powers Unlimited™ One, Two & Three all retailing for $14.95 each.

Note: Price changes on existing titles will come into effect with their next printing. For example, Rifts® World Book One: Vampire Kingdoms™ will soon increase to $18.95 retail.

Palladium’s Future

Palladium Books is not out of the woods and our cash flow is uneven, but we are doing much better than we were earlier in 2006.

We have a number of exciting new products scheduled for the months to come, and the highly anticipated return of the Robotech RPG license should see 2007 start strong for Palladium Books.

With your continued support, word of mouth about new products, increased hype and advertising, more hard work and a little luck, we hope to get Palladium back on its feet and standing strong by the end of 2007.

The Return of Robotech® will be big. Do not underestimate the size, commitment and dedication of Robotech fans, all of whom are anxious for the release of Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles movie on DVD and the return of the Robotech RPG.

Palladium is still formulating its strategies for the Robotech® RPG line, but we will probably start with The Shadow Chronicles. More details will be offered in the weeks to come, but I can tell you we are shooting for a March 2007 release of the initial game quickly, followed by 3-4 supplements in the six months after its debut. Robotech fans, young and old, are waiting with eager anticipation for this RPG.

Books temporarily out of print such as Rifts® Coalition War Campaign, Rifts® Juicer Uprising, Free Quebec and many others will return to Palladium’s line-up as we slowly reprint these key titles. We have to be careful not to overextend ourselves.
