    Why 2009? Where’s the 2008 POH?
    *******************************

We can’t host a Palladium Open House this year, 2008, because we will be packing up and moving to a new location in April. May will see us getting settled in at the new facility, and ramping back into production, and June starts the Summer convention season. We’ll be too busy beforehand and exhausted and frazzled afterward, so it’s just NOT possible to do the Palladium Open House in 2008. We hope you understand.

That’s okay, because it means we’ll work hard to make the 2009 Palladium Open House bigger and more fun than ever!

Start planning for May 2009 NOW! We are hoping that by announcing the 2009 POH now, it gives EVERYONE who’d like to come, ample time to make plans, reserve time off from work, and save up the money they’ll need to attend. So spread the word and start making your plans!

    Guests

If the Crisis of Treachery in 2006 and the sad news about Erick Wujcik’s battle with cancer in December 2007 teach us anything, it is not to take anything in life for granted.

We are so glad Erick Wujcik was one of our special guests at the 2007 Palladium Open House, and that a lot of our fans got the chance to hear him speak, meet him in person, get autographs, and for a lucky handful, even game with Erick. The Palladium Open House events offer gamers an intimate location where they can meet, chat with and game with dozens and dozens of Palladium creators. The small venue and intimate atmosphere breed a sense of closeness and friendship that no other game convention can offer. Plus, you’ll get to meet and hang with 40+ Palladium talents, including Kevin Siembieda, Palladium staff members, artists, writers and freelancers. In some cases, this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity, don’t miss it.

40+ Palladium creators and staff – the largest gathering of Palladium game designers, writers, artists and creators on the planet! Even more than the 2007 Open House! ALL available to chat, sign autographs and game.

    Notable Highlights for 2009 Events

  • Kevin Siembieda to run 3-5 gaming events, plus panel talks, and Kevin makes himself available throughout the convention to talk with people and sign books every day of the entire event!

  • We are considering making Friday a full day of gaming and having VIP Night Thursday evening. “If” we do this, the Open House would be open to the public Friday: May 1, Saturday: May 2, and Sunday: May 3, and “VIP Thursday” would be April 30.

WHAT do YOU think about this idea? Expand the days or keep it VIP Friday, Saturday and Sunday? We would really like your input on this.

  • Panel Talk: Where’s Palladium headed? with Kevin Siembieda and other key members of Palladium.

  • Panel Talk: Adventures in Hollywood with Kevin Siembieda.

  • Panel Talk: Tips on Game Mastering with key Palladium G.M.s.

  • Panel Talk: Mapmaking and props in role-playing games with Roger & Randi Cartier.

Note: And if the gentlemen who handle our podcasts come to the 2009 POH, maybe panel talks and on site interviews will be broadcast “live” on the Palladium website.

  • Costume Contest! What do you think?! Sound like fun? It was in 2007. Kathy and Wayne say yes, let’s do it again with more participants! Prizes, fun and plenty of time to start your costume NOW.

  • Game events by James Brown, Lonnie Langston, Zachary Houghton, Jason Marker and other members of the Megaversal Ambassadors.

  • Dealer’s area with original artwork, prints, books and rare collectibles.

  • More tables for artist/writer guests.

  • More fans! Anticipating 400-500 attendees.

    How to Attend
    **************

Are we crazy to make tickets available now? No (okay, maybe a little) – 16 months will be here in no time. Start making your plans today.

    Advance Ticket Purchase Guarantees Your Admission – May 2 & 3, 2009

Due to space limitations and safety concerns, attendance will be limited to approximately 500 admission tickets. All tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis, so get your reservations in as soon as possible!

Also, we NEED to know in advance how many gamers are coming so we have enough events (we had 60 last time).

All reservations must be in by April 14, 2009. A name must be assigned to each ticket. No refunds for cancellations after March 15, 2009. No refunds for no-shows.

Tickets will be available at the door, provided there is still room!

A keepsake Certificate of Admission (8 ½ x 11 inches) suitable for framing) will be sent to confirm your ticket reservation.

Kathy Simmons will be handling reservations and tickets this time around, so you know everything will be timely and organized.

    *******************
    Price of Admission
    *******************

$32 for the Two Day Weekend (Saturday & Sunday) per individual. ($36 at the door, if space is available.) “If” we add a third day, the additional cost would be $16.
$16 for a single day (Saturday or Sunday). ($20 at the door, if space is available.)

Additional charge (probably around $60) for V.I.P. Night (Friday or Thursday depending on the number of days for the 2009 POH). VIP Night is a special, one-evening event limited to 50-60 people. See details below. The VIP night always sells out within weeks, so we are waiting till the POH is closer before making it available. First-come, first served.

Remember, we want your input as to whether or not YOU think we should add a third day of gaming (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, with VIP Thursday). We need to know, not just if you think it’s a good idea, but that YOU would pay for and come to a three day event (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). We will let you know what we decide depending on the response we get.
